Straight, Inc. and Derivatives / Mel Riddile: Washington Post
« on: October 23, 2005, 04:51:00 PM »
Oh! Good point! I mentioned that Riddile was there when the Collins case came out - but I completely forgot he was the one who advised Collins, Sr. to press charges! DANG!

If any of you are interested, you can send your letter to the editor at:

[email protected]

hopefully they'll print them and not just ignore us like the media usually does.

Straight, Inc. and Derivatives / (s)Mel Sembler in the news

"In videotaped remarks from the garden of his official residence, the US ambassador to Italy, Mel Sembler said that Calipari had been a 'valuable' U.S. ally. President Bush expressed his condolences . . . [Prime Minister Silvio] Berlusconi called in Sembler and demanded that the United States 'take responsibility' and acknowledge a 'tragic error.' Italian prosecutors are preparing to officially ask the United States for information about the shooting."

Open Free for All / "Soliloquy of the Vietnam War," by Jerry McKinney
« on: October 04, 2004, 09:00:00 PM »
Adapting Jerry McKinney's "Soliloquy of the Vietnam War."

A long time ago, but not so far away
So many children suffered and died.
It was a popular war, so the proponents say,
And the politicians they all complied.

As the mounted bodies
Of suicidal kids still stuck in the back of group
Returned to our un-fostered homes
Mothers, Fathers, loved ones all
Grieved and cried in pain,
Never to hold their child again
Only a hollow cult's refrain.

As the un-draped coffins
Were lowered down
Nancy Reagan and a bevy of drug czars
Gave their salute.
The family flinched with each false report,
And the druggie blew his last toot.

Life goes on, or so they say,
But for some it never does.
We remember our fallen program survivors each day
And get enraged . . . Just because.

taken from the [Veterans and Families' Guide to Recovering From PTSD, pg. 68].

"Soliloquy of the Vietnam War"

A long time ago, and far away
So many brave young men fought and died
It was an unpopular war, so the critics say,
And the politicians they all lied.

As the mounted bodies
In the backs of planes
Returned to our native land,
Mothers, Fathers loved ones all
Grieved and cried in pain,
Never to hold their soldier again
Only a hollow war's refrain.

As the flag draped coffins
Were lowered down,
And the guns
They gave their salute.
The family flinched with each rifle's report
And the bugler blew his last toot.

Life goes on or so they say,
But for some it never does.
We remember our fallen brothers each day
And sob . . . Just because.

Straight, Inc. and Derivatives / Is it just my `magination????

I think this should go in the "Just when you thought it couldn't get any worse" category.

And what's up with the confrontation for referring to Ft. Lauderdale as Lauderdale? What's that all about?

I thought Kentucky closed down and moved to another state! I could have sworn they're doing business in two other Northern states.

And if I recall correctly, what you guys are saying is in conflict with what Wes' site says about Ross and KHK. But it's been awhile - so I could be mistaken.

Can you guys give more detail? Ross was never part of KHK, it was started by parents, and it's allegedly still going - in Kentucky?

 - I'm confused.

Good quote, Ginger! Is that yours? Or someone else's?

Wouldn't it be nice if we lived in a world where instead of tearing down one another's artistic pursuits, we instead built up one another with encouragement?!

And wouldn't it be special if we stopped allowing the thought reform from the program to make us derogatory a-holes who spend our time criticizing, mistrusting and judging others behavior and motives?!

  I guess I'm still a mistrusting a-hole too.

But I do encourage your pursuits, Anon! Please continue to spread the word - in your own unique way.

The government has never hiddden the fact that if a plane is taken hostage they will shoot it down. Our Country has always had a "no negotiation policy" with terrorists and Bush had absolutely nothing to do with the 9-11 tragedy.

But that would be sad if they did shoot them down, considering the passengers had tried to take control of the plane.

Of course, post-9-11 is even worse - because now they've banned cell phones and mace and all knives. So not only are you unable to defend yourself from a hi-jacker, but now people can't even telephone someone to alert them as to what is happening. Imagine if those people didn't have cell phones! You never would have known to go witness what you did. And that's the situation they've put passengers in now.

And I'm not defending Bush, by the way, I'm just disgusted with the airlines.

Man-oh-man! HOW did I miss this thread?!!!

I thought you people were talking about the movie and I never noticed how long it got or even bothered to read it.

But wow! It was really interesting for 17 or 18 pages before it dwindled into a brief "I just" thread.

So you want "proof" Greg? Well gee - let's see what I can remember from 20 freaking pages?!!

The flood debate went on for awhile - the only thing I can add to this is that show - with Leonard Lemoy, 'In Search Of.' They found the Ark in Turkey on the mountain the Bible says it came to rest on: Mt. Ararat (probably spelled wrong by me) and they even got a piece of wood and tested it for age - and it's old   - seriously though, it's old enough to qualify.

Okay - what else? OH! Josephus. He's an historian who lived in the olden days - he was an official Roman historian and he has statements from the Governors and (mayors and  - whatever the Roman leaders of provinces and what-not were called) - that are mentioned in the Bible - discussing Jesus and his followers and his crucifixion - and even some time after said event. Go to the library and get the book. I believe I have the publication info. in a box upstairs if you need more. But that's authentic people who lived, who can be verified, etc. That's why they say the Bible can be used as an historical document, because where we say June 4, 2004 - they say, Joe Blow in the town of One in the county of Two in the state of three in the country of four - only they name the people who oversee those regions - which gives you a chain of evidence and a reality of authenticity and political/historical documentation. Get the book from the library - you'll see your "evidence" - at least for matching what the Bible says to what documented history says.

And what else? Oh! The Dead Sea Scrolls - also tested - also old enough and authenticated by multiple reknown archeaologists (spelling?) I could have sworn the Biblical A. Review and Time or Newsweek or somebody like that both did articles on the Scrolls - as well as the burial box they found recently. But the Scrolls are authentic - and they match the book of - Isaiah, I believe - exactly.

And then there's Biblical prophecy that's being fulfilled right now in the news - but, I digress.

I guess what it comes down to, Greg is that it really is your own personal quest. I certainly don't want to debate with you   but - aren't you in Florida? I just mentioned a ministry in St. Pete tonight. Godsnews .com or org or net I don't know but they could debate you intelligently. I bet they'd at least challenge you intellectually.

Well - that's my two cents. You wanted "proof" and I think Josephus is more along the lines of what you're looking for evidence man! Happy hunting!

Oh - and Scott David was it? Will you e-mail me? I'd like to chat with you!

Open Free for All / Prophecy??
« on: June 04, 2004, 09:33:00 PM »
Hosea and Isaiah? I don't think I've ever really read Isaiah other than in regards to the prophecy (and fulfillment) about Jesus. It discusses the last days? I'll have to check it out!

Yeah - I like King James - and understand it fairly well, but I've also encountered a preacher who reads first from the K.J. and then from a modern version. And I can definitely see where the modern version gives you more wisdom in truly grasping the meaning of the words! But I truly am partial to the K.J. (I went to some crazy Baptist schools and I've been indoctrinated not to trust "new, modern" versions)   but I've since seen the "light" on utilizing one with the other and think it's a good idea - especially when dealing with prophecy! I mean, it's real easy to see in in retrospect - like with the prophecies about Jesus - but when it's in the future, it's harder to tell.

Like the burning mountain that hits the earth and burns a third of it. That could be any number of things and is basically left up to interpretation. My ideas? It could be a meteor, a nuclear device, a future space station gone awry, or God throwing a literal burning mountain at the earth.

I've read Lindsay - I used to watch Zola on t.v. before my schedule changed - and you know who I just thought of? There's a ministry in St. Petersburg, FLA - what is their name? Man. It escapes me at the moment - but I see the guy on Christian television a lot - Perry somebody - but he and another guy have this annual prophecy conference in St. Pete in February. Lindsay is a speaker at it - it has something to do with news - like godsnews or something. Yeah, I think the ministry is called godsnews. Perry Stone! And godsnews might be his buddie's ministry - but he's involved with it.

But anyway, thanks for the verses! I'll check them out.
