Hello Dallas people!  :wave:

I was in the Straight program in 1982, in St. Pete, FL and in Springfield, VA.

(For what now seems like an eternity), I've been writing a book about my (and our) experiences in the program. I have only a smattering of Texas- program stories and I can always use more!

I pledge anonymity to all who speak with me about their experiences in the program. And I'm interested in your experience - whether you think it was a delightful place or sheer torture.

Well that's true - but style and language and structure can also be mimicked.

I've read recent threads on this board that I swear appeared to be postings by the same person (pretending to be mulitple posters).

And that's just - I don't know. Is it creative or crazy? Either way, a woman's intuition usually tells her when something isn't right - so paying attention is always important. Good advice, Carmel!

I think it's a good idea to send an e-mail and a hard-copy to the Office / His Eminence. That way, they're sure to get the message if the webmaster doesn't deliver it.

Sending documents and links sounds like a fantastic idea!

Did anyone mention sending links to newspapers from New Jersey? Because that's credible and gives them a foundation to understand why we are protesting Newton.

I intend to let them know how I feel about Newton working with Floridian youth - from the point of view of a former youth that Newton "worked with."

I encourage everyone to do the same.

Wow, Alex. You have a short memory.

As I recall, I too was slandered on these boards by people who accused me of things that I didn't do. And you jumped in on the bandwagon and said foul things when you had zero knowledge of what really happened! And then you helped to drag my compatriots into the fray, accusing them of things that they also, were NOT doing.

But now that girlfriend allegedly does - (in essence) - the very same thing by allegedly accusing you of a character trait which you claim you do not possess - you retaliate by posting nude photos and announcing that she deserves this behavior for saying such untrue things about you?!

And then you follow up your deed by having the nerve to cite "what comes around goes around" and "tit for tat"?

Dude!

Way back when, you didn't have the whole story on me and my accusers. But since they were your friends, you wrongly accused me and demonized my character and the character of those "connected" to me. Hhhmmm. Kind of sounds similar to what you're going through now, doesn't it? Damn dude! Did you reap what you sow? Did what comes around go around? Was it tit for tat? And if it is, then what do you suppose will come around for you after what you did to girlfriend?

I suppose I'm speaking up because I'm surprised and disgusted at the route you chose to take with girlfriend. Morally, ethically, how can you rationalize posting such a thing? Because she said untrue things. Ah yes - well remember, if you want to lay down the rules, you have to be willing to live by them too.

You acted out of anger, rage and self-righteousness. And just as you did to me and my compatriots with words back then, you did to girlfriend now with pictures!

In my opinion, this speaks volumes about your character Alex. But is it your real character, or your programmed character?

And for the record, seeing it come back to you would only be satisfying for me if through this experience, you actually learned from it, changed your behavior toward others, and emotionally grew as a person. Otherwise, it's just another life lesson that goes unlearned.

It is a travesty that some in KIDS think that their program was somehow different than Straight when it was the exact same program with the exact same child abuser running the show.

One has to wonder why a "survivor" would urge someone whose goal is to expose the bad guys to "forget kids."

But like you, John, I won't let the memory die until every last kid is released from their captivity. This isn't just about a program or a particular man that hurt us, it's about a treatment model that needs to be exposed and annihilated.

Wow. Yes, I can see how you "take responsibility for your thoughts, feelings, and actions" when you lash out at me like that for expressing myself. Always nice to hear from angry folks such as yourself! Too bad KIDS didn't "instruct" you on how to be kind to your fellow humans.  :eek:

But then, your reaction doesn't surprise me. Most victims of child abuse do what you have done here - rationalizing that you couldn't have changed without being emotionally and psychologically battered in KIDS. And that's okay, because I know without telling yourself that, then you wouldn't be able to cope with what you already admit was "flawed mistreatment."

Incidentally, I wasn't aware that the posts were supposed to be "educated or imperical [sic] input." Could have sworn that when these boards were created it was so that we could express ourselves, educated, uneducated, experienced, inexperienced, or whatever. Furthermore, it seems to me that your hostility is either personal - directed at me for some unknown reason, or horrifically misplaced and you're using me as your punching bag.

If you want to deem my regret at not stopping the monster as "self-pity" so be it. That's your opinion and you're entitled to it, only I could have sworn I was expressing empathy and sympathy.

But since I'm not the one who hurt you, sweetie, shouldn't you "take responsibility for your thoughts feelings and actions" as you claim and direct that anger where it belongs?

By the way, I think you are one of the saddest victim of oppression on these boards in that you think you are healthy, but clearly, if you look at your post, you're still two people in one body warring against one another. Everything you said screams, "Child of abuse," and yet, you lash out at me as though I'm the one who held you captive and ripped apart your identity.

I truly hope you find the peace you clearly do not possess and fix your fractured sense of self. Maybe then you too can cry when you read these tragic stories.

Yeah it was creepy. What the heck was wrong with our parents letting us see that? Of course my parents took us on Friday night to see Jaws and then on the following Saturday they took us to the beach!  :lol: I saw it overseas and I thought maybe it didn't show in this country since no one ever remembered it. I forgot about a lot of stuff until I read the review.

Very funny Don! And true! If you can buy a used penis pump, you can find anything. :lol:
