Title: what is...anyway...
Post by: starry-eyed pirate on January 06, 2010, 01:00:18 AM
...because when you think about it, it seems like a lack of character to me, if people have the opportunity to try and enrich their perspective, even chemically, but don't take the chance, because they've been pressured to believe it could be bad for them in some way...like make them stupid or delusional or confused or something.  I mean you have to have some discretion in life...that's true, but if you just believe what your told...(I just shake my head in silence then)

If you have the opportunity to get high and be part of any kind of a drum circle don't believe the cops or the judge or any of the "straight"-anti-drug people.  They are all mostly just so far removed from the way of things that they have to pretend or be destroyed.

You can altar the way your senses perceive the world, and when you do what your sense tell you is still true and real.  I think people who insist that things like smoking marijuana can only be bad are just reactionary fools.  Because even if it's not your thing, you should still just be cool and let people live.  Marijuana is a teacher.  People who deny it's value are ignorant.  Peace.

Well said. Marijuana breaks the spell. Marijuana makes you want to eat cookies. Nobody has made a pill that makes you feel like that.It is quite simply the best feeling in the world.(imho) When pot can make a cancer patient laugh like a little kid, what could be the down side to that?

LEGALIZE IT!
ROLL IT!
TAX IT
AND SELL IT TO ME!

I don't smoke it. But I don't think it's a big deal either. I can think of many people who would benefit from daily tokes. I don't know if I'd say marijuana is a teacher though.  Explain that. I can understand that rationale for peyote, but not for mj. I see mj more as a relaxant or mood shifter, and some people are just waaaaayyyyy more easier to deal with when they are stoned.

Well, shanlea, it's like a teacher in the way that it reveals the nature of things.  For ordinary reality has it's limits and yet another reality exists. One that is denied by politicians and lawyers and judges who manipulate the general population.  Whereas smoking the sacred herb will show you where this is at.

The determination of your intellectual curiosity takes on a fiercer intensity, It is a focusing agent and the distractions are removed from in front of you and your senses turn on in new and different ways...

Remember those ol' bumper stickers that said "Drugs are for people who can't handle reality" ??  I remember those stickers.  They showed up, you know right around 86 or so, while I was in $tr8.  At first I was taken aback, but then I thought what an idiot.  That guy was actually in some kind of a denial of reality, cause drugs are real and the chemicals have a real effect on your brain and your life, whether for better or worse depends on the user.  Then a little later I started seein the other bumper sticker that said "reality is for people who can't handle drugs" and though I heartily appreciated the sentiment I thought it folly too.   Anyway that was more about drugs in general and not specifically Mj, though.

You won't get it from tryin it a few times though, you have to actually be willin to live it for a while and let your rituals evolve as they may. Some people like to smoke at a certain time of day and tune into the natural elements around them, etc.

Namaste.

I guess I will never know as I am not a pot smoker, and from the sound of it, I'd have to be a regular to soak in its educational attributes. To me,it's primary benefits are medicinal or mood altering. I just don't see it as a teacher... peyote and mushrooms I can understand, because they break through cognitive dimension.

I don't do those either though.

The only truly educational aspect of marijuana that I can see is that use over time relaxes constraints that allow more open mindedness.

If I toked all day, every day, I'd just be even more inclined toward sedentary living.
