Title: Movie Reviews

GI Joe, The Rise of Cobra

 ::fullofshit::

Worst movie I've seen in a long time. I seriously think the government should ban it to prevent a mass spread of suicides.

State of Play

One thumb's up for being semi-interesting if not a little predictable. Lots of good Washington DC intrigue and so forth. It is definitely a wait for DVD kind of movie though.

Yeah, GI Joe seems to rank right up there with Catwoman and Elektra. I never saw the latter, but as for the former, it was on AMC (AMC??) and my fiancee and I decided to watch it for a laugh. Oh my god, it was bad. It had its moments of laugh-inducing ridiculousness, but not nearly enough to earn it a "so bad its good" award. We couldnt sit through the whole thing.

Incidentally, Halle Barry accepted her Golden Raspberry award for worst actress in person, at the awards ceremony. Only two other actors did such a thing, Tom Green, for Freddy Got Fingered, and Paul Verhoven for Showgirls. (one of the best movies ever made.)

Well you did get to see that one girl from saved by the bell titties.

Kingdom of Heaven, director's cut.

Worth a see as it includes a couple new scenes including some good background about Siballya's child.

Deer Hunter..

wtf... bored me out of my skull.

weird story...

they used to play some of the songs from the score as house music at RMA. When I finally saw the flick, I was like "WTF? They used music from the motherfucking DEER HUNTER to calm us down?"

Ironic similarity between the ending of Deer Hunter with Christopher Walken shooting himself in the head and CEDU imploding due to a 30 million dollar lawsuit.

I recently rewatched the timeless Raudy Ray Moore Blaxploitation classics Dolemite, Petey Wheatstraw--The Devil's Son-In-Law, and Disco Gadfather (aka Avenging Disco Godfather).   Excellent stuff.  I particularly like the angel dust freakout scenes in DG.  Also, Pucci Jones as "The Angel of Death" doing her seductive interpretive PCP nightmare dance is, by itself,  worth the price of rental.

That flick definitely needed moar cowbell.

I think my favorite walken flick is Suicide Kings. Amazingly enough, Denis Leary apparently worked off-script for the film and his lines were all improv, which amazed me, since he's a huge rip-off hack who has a boner for new york firemen.

Suicide Kings is that flick where they kidnap Walken and then everything promptly goes to shit?

You know, I have this thing with trilogies. For some reason, I normally feel that the second film is the one I enjoy the most. Probably because its right at the crest of that story arc. I was like this with the empire strikes back, hellraiser, LOTR, probably others that arent coming to mind. Other trilogies I stick with the first film, (terminator, alien)

With this particular trilogy Im going to have to be true to form and vote that the second one was the best. I mean, it had me sucked in just from the massive crawl of text at the beginning of the flick, just to catch everyone up on whats happened.

unbelievable

Alien- great movie
Aliens 2- fantastic
Aliens 3- Would rather be forced to have sex with a horse than watch that again.
Aliens 4- Please god.. no more.. no more.. no more.

Shocking how they took a great premise and turned it into a clusterfuck with the last two movies.

Aliens Vs Predator - Nicely done, would watch again
Aliens Vs Predator Requiem- I digged it.
Aliens Vs Predator 3 (not yet released) - will suck dongs.

Just watched that movie Role Models and about died laughing. I normally avoid that sort of film as the humor is too crude for my liking. For some reason the idea of two idiots becoming role models to troubled kids in a mentoring program run by a reformed coke snorting loon who used to blow her judge for blow made me laugh.

good times.

That movie looked as if it had too many "heart warming" moments for my tastes.  Like "awwww these guys learned something... and the kids learned something!!"

You know what recent flick surprised me as to how funny it was? The Hangover. I was howling. Zack Galafianakis was brilliant. I love that guy.

Although I love films with "stupid" humor, such as Dumb & Dumber, Tommy Boy, Step-brothers, etc.

This movie obviously cost a lot of money to make but was painful to sit through. The acting was horrible and the story was ridiculous. I couldn't wait for it to be over. Worst action movie I've seen in a long time!
