About a week ago, a couple of former Straightlings sat for an hour-long interview on St. Pete talk radio, WMNF. It was a great show. Wes was there by phone and Richard Bradbury called in. Boy, is he all fired up! And a couple of folks who hadn't found us on the net were able to make contact through the call-in show. Here's the link.

Interesting times here. It seems that the people from AARC have lied to the EZBoard staff in order to try to censor our little discussion here. We all knew about that, right?

Well now it seems (not yet confirmed, but it sure looks this way) that some joker from http://pyramidproductions.tv/ is trying to steal Velvet200's username!

In Straight, we had "Rules Rap" at least once a day. The first and most important rule was HONESTY. Ya' know, don't lie or cover things up, be forthright all the time... deal on the up and up.

What in the hell are they teaching over there at AARC? Lie, cheat and steal like a gypsy?

Straight, Inc. and Derivatives / How the net handles censorship

Good golly, Miss Molly! The lengths these cults will go to to protect their secrets!

Back when Congress, being true-to-form the antithesis of progress, tried to ban all kinds of communication on the net with the "Communications Decency Act", one insightful policy wonk noted that the net will respond to censorship like damage and route around it. Fortunately, the Supreme Court unanimously overturned that bit of political chicanery right away.

So, here we are. Dean doesn't like what some of his former clients have to say about his program. Woops! Gotta run. Jojo's all upset because Heather keeps telling her she's short...... (as de dawg chases his tail)

Hello,  Here is a note I received from a former student who is assisting in legal efforts:

Hi, everyone! I was recently contacted by Dr. Frank Guenther of the New Jersey public school system. A student who was previously enrolled in New Jersey Public School has been removed by his mother and placed at Provo Canyon School. PCS is trying to get the New Jersey school system to pay for tuition. This caused the initial investigation. Dr. Frank Guenther was alarmed by all of the websites he found and by the conversations he has subsequently had with me regarding what the practices of PCS are. He wants to help shut them down. He needs as many of us who are willing to come forward as possible. He also needs at least one person who was there within the past 5 years.

He said that because I was there so long ago and PCS has changed ownership since I was there they can claim that they no longer use torture and that the policies and practices have changed sufficiently. We know that isn't the case.

Please contact me or Ed Glynn at   (Ed is the attorney working on the case against PCS). Please be expedient in replying. Litigation begins March 13th and if we don't step up to the plate now, we may not get a second chance. Please help those who are still suffering.
Peace Out,
Angela

This really amazing posting just came in on DPFT from Al Robison. I was so moved by this piece that just have to know if/how it might effect other people with experience different and similar to my own. So I've put together a poll.

If you're so inclined, please feel free to copy material around to wherever you think it might have an impact. You can get the poll form by http://www.dpft.org/

Web forum hosting / Having to log in twice
« on: January 05, 2002, 01:01:00 PM »
When you log in, except for some few browser types, the page shows you as having not logged in till you do it again.

We'll keep an eye out for ways to fix this. Mean time, just ignore it. As soon as you load another page, it'll properly show you as logged in.

Oh, and you don't have to log in at all to read posts. When you post if you enter a valid username/password combination that will automagically log you in. If you're logged in and you want to post anonymously, just log out and then post. Of course, moderators will still be able to see your reported IP address (usually your firewall or proxy address) but not your acual identity.

We can do that too. If you've registered a new username and you want all of your old posts to reflect that, just let us know. We can map your old username to your new one.

Web forum hosting / Forum list order

I just changed the order in which the forums are listed. They were listed in the order they were created. I just changed it so that they're listed backward; newest first. I would like to have them ordered by the most recent post.

Web forum hosting / Update - mirror site.
« on: December 24, 2001, 03:00:00 PM »
We've just imported the old discussion into the new database for Straight, Inc. Survivors.

There are some minor bugs having to do with some funky usernames and extra posts and some topics popping up in the wrong order. The scripting is also way ahead of the FAQ, so we'll have to update that.

Your old udernames should all be set up. Please email me or use the private message feature here if you want to set a password for your username.

Of course, any bugs or problems, please feel free to post here. This is an open plan constrained only by limits of practicality. If there's some new trick you'd like for us to make this software do, go ahead and ask. If it's practical, we'll give it a shot.

that were unpreventable during the transfer process, please be advised there may be some inaccuracies.
