Straight, Inc. and Derivatives / Legal Redress...
« on: August 06, 2002, 12:37:00 AM »
I have been wondering.  If Mel Sembler runs one of florida's largest commercial development companies($$$$), AND quotes his founding of STRAIGHT as among his greatsest accomplishments, can we link him to damages.  The catholics are having to cough up for 30 year old stuff, and the DFAF, DARE, SAFE, GT crowds have so many familiar names and operate using the old access and dollars routine.  The honorable mail order doctor newton went away mercifully after about 5 million in damages. Is is time to sting the big boys, or is it just a pipe dream?

I think my most brilliant move was jamming the the open handle of some hotdog tongs over the top sprayer jet thingy, where it spun around at high speed smashing every damn glass it touched!!!!!

OHMIGOD.  I fell out of my chair laughing...you do know how to write. Well, my parents seemed to chill way the fuck out after I came home, so destruction of an intentional nature was not needed. When I started partying in college we had some fun nights in battle, then I moved out.I LOVED that crap about "call if your drinking " and not get in trouble with us shit.  Every time I called from somewhere to say " I AM DUI..camping out tonite" (@ 19), I caught royal shit.  For not driving.  Go figure.

Peace.  Measured doses of family are best.

Straight, Inc. and Derivatives / you're all yacking!!!!
« on: August 06, 2002, 12:00:00 AM »
Jennifer,
Hey...yeah, yacking is what straightlings do....we barf our secrets too each other, then use that embarresing minuate at some future date to make an evil druggie BREAKDOWN and MAKE A CHANGE.  Then we can all give hugs and be FRIENDS again.  LOVE YA JENNIFER!!!

I was still cringe when I think of "motivating" and that stupid little whip snap of the fingers we would do when it was time to confront someone.  Thank god I was in when video cameras were 10,000 dollars and didnt work for shit. Can you imagine seeing that film at a family get together!!
Both my shoulders are screwed too Jen.  One from taking a dive off of my trusty Honda sportbike, the other from straight.  I was in Dec 80-dec82 in st pete AND atlanta. Home cooking was better in Atlanta.  Wasn't good enough to keep me around.

Thanks for dropping in.  Yeah, I know the feeling of smoke a little weed= raging drug addict.  That attitude landed tooo many youngsters by the beltloop for a lot of time.  Well, its history for us, but I agree with you, we should help to stop the perpetuation of this garbage, as it does continue today. If anybody out there has any ideas???? Wes, Mike,Ginger?
Wouldn't it be grand to hold your most hated past nemesis by the belt loop and feed them peanut butter for a month.  How about an "intake room herding" for former executive staff.  Oh, to fantasize is grand...
....I'd rather be a first class ass-pain to them today, exposing them for what predetors they were to our parents and selve's.

Not my kid....yeach...

I think traffic was a fantastic movie comparatively speaking.  When Mike Douglas walks out of his "drug czar" press conference after digging his cute white daughter out of the ghetto dealers house and openly questions " how do you fight a war against your own family". He doesn't answer with "beat her, imprison her...", he simply gives up a CABINET LEVEL job and decides HE can't DO anything more than take care of his home.  Gutsy character.

Not my kid was another Newton self-agrandization (enriching too,$$)trip.  I have wondered how Mark and his Dad get along today.  Has anybody heard anything.  Last I saw was at him and Lee(or was it Tracey) A.'s wedding, then I heard they divorced.  How would it feel to have Newton as a DAD?  How about a movie of THAT....

As a parent with a teen today, I wonder sometimes where the line of "reasonable teen mis-steps" crosses to a "problem" with our experience with straight and our own selves prior to the program.  My kid is popular and our house is the one where lots of kids hang out, so I know them well, and hear all about the things 13,14 and 15 types are into today.  Do other parents out there have any stories or experiences with a rebel in the house after being one yourself?

St pete program,80-81,Atlanta 82.  The spawn of straight which spread to ohio consisted of a group of St Pete kids who emigrated north.  I knew a few of them then.  Is Cincinati as uptight as those of us out here percieve it.  I mean, you read about the Maplethorpe controversies, Hustler and Larry Flint stuff.  When we were kids the joke was Cleveland, but now that is a "cool" city.  Just a wonderin'.

Mike,
I have no clue as to what might be out there in the way of chat rooms or local get togethers.  . I just signed on here 3-4 days ago myself, so no, I have not so much as talked to another person who was there.  Mom pulled an oh shit, but "if you need to dig around in this , I will support it."  Dad thought it was over the top to refer to ourselves as survivors.  HELLO >>>his idea of surviving is making money when everybody else is losing their(our) ass in this stock market.
Maybe some of these other people will chime in with some info.  Yahoo has some kinda board, but I guess you need cookies, java, a/X and all the other MicroSquish shit enabled to make it work.  If you dont use aol, go to your favorite search engine and type in AIM in " " marks.  You will have to download it(AIM) and install it, enabling you to IM without AOHell service.  Still cool? Hope so .  Then when you click AIM logo on board, or type my handle (psychodaddy001), if I am on, say hi.
BTW, I really downed out on the whole thing with straight for a few days, but today i fished with my kids , swam out in the middle of Tampa  Bay with them and was a touch nicer than usual to them.  We must keep in touch, as you said, with what we have done in spite of straight.  Or because of it.  I married a woman with a mean streak worse than Miller Newton, and a lets be 17 forever party attitude.  Just shoot me.  But then I look at those kids...WOW, she is still, despite it all, the only person who could've given those particular kids to me.  I think straight did effect our core personal wiring with long term exposure to its toxins.  It also made me tougher, smarter, and a whole lot harder to BS.  These have been good things in this life.
Congrats on a cool sounding career with a family. You have an artists job....very luckey.  My sons draw and create work in various media, where I break crayons if I try to draw. Do you sell your work online?

Hey, I recognize some of those.  Pierce and Preston K., the south tampa oh so south Tampa brothers.  Preston was kool,on 5th phase he caught me up in some shit and let it slide. I remember Pierce was a total penis on staff. I won't hold it against him unless he still thinks he was right. Bob North....was he a real chubby guy with a brother in with him, lived in Palm Harbor?  Oh MY GOD>>>i remeber him, he was a mechanic at the Rices garage.  They had 2 boys in, I was good buds with Brian Rice after I got out.  He 7stepped but they pulled a brother, got Brian banned.  Anyway.  Mike P., had curly brown hair, on 4th phase when I went in in 1980.  He went up in staff...you know who probably knows a lot of these relevant folks is Marnie.  HEY MARNIE..what happened to some of these folks...
Did you know Mark Newton(no confidentiality for son of SATAN), Keith Ly...(had a NASTY 200+ stitch motorcycle accident), or Kim Do. Lurray Harbor died, her sister told me.  What a wild 13 yo misbehaver she was.  Died like they said she would too....
I KNOW the program made her nuts...she was a kid...we used to clique it up and get busted.  she carved her arms worse than anyone else I ever saw in my 2 years.
Mark Gil.. was another I'd like to hear about.  Hell, he'd misbehaved for ever.
I just remebered...I SPLIT from Bob Norths house!!!!  Ahh, that was a cold day for Florida...
Enough memories for now, as the wumps are hungry and will barbeque the golden retriever if I dont feed em.

I have no eathly idea if this is the same family.  Its a common name and I can't remember the mom. They were mobile...their sons started in St Pete, then xfered to ATL when it opened. The Dr, oh, I remember..the office equipment right out of the 1950's, the family member receptionist, all to weird for a normal family practice.  My parents dissed the bill from this guy and told him he was lucky we didn't sue him and straight.

I just found this board, have professional considerations, and am not ready to hang that last name  out there yet as a custodial father of three.  Call me a nutball who's looking for jackbooted thugs, but hell, when you live it....
Use AIM to catch me....psychodaddy001 is my handle. We can speak more privately there.

Your name sounds familiar...I have misplaced you face.  I knew Trey Fr. from cinci well enough.  He stayed at my house as foster brother for while. Did you hang out with him?  If so I might know you
Describe youself, when in, etc.
