Help Me Save My Child’s Life!!!

My fear in sending this letter is that you may find this offensive. However, the true fear of losing my child at the age of 16 is far greater, especially if I didn’t do all I could to help prevent it. I approach you is an honest and sincere direction. I need to act now to help my family.

My child is sick. The cost for long-term modification because of ADD, ADHD, Bi-polar, Oppositional Defiance, and suicidal directions is very expensive. I need to place him into an approved behavior modification program that will help him get the tools to change. Unfortunately, the cost is great and my funds low. That is why I approach you. As a (family member or friend or business acquaintance or someone that I shop with, or professional, etc) I ask you to help us.

Fortunately, I have a benefit for you helping our family. I have been given the opportunity to work with the C. S. Landre Foundation (a 501(c)(3) public benefits non-profit organization. Your contribution to the foundation will give you a tax benefit for your donation. My family would be able to be helped by the foundation as they have given 93% of funds received to family and program support. That is a tremendous allocation and in alignment with our needs.

I ask you to assist and if possible send your contribution directly to the foundation in the enclosed envelope. That is a guarantee that the funds will arrive at the proper location. The Foundation assures me that they will acknowledge your contribution with the appropriate forms.

Yes, it was a difficult decision to send this letter to you as I do not usually ask for assistance. My child’s life is far more important and I will be humbly grateful if you will help me.

Sincerely,

The packet that you send should include:

Your letter with above as an example only.
Return envelope with code on back.
Include somewhere information that you are a customer, friend, business acquaintance, etc. For some people they add a picture of themselves or their child.

Why would WWASP be suggesting donation to a 501(c)3 entity?  I wonder if what they're doing is legal, considering they're basically using this front 501 to funnel money into a for profit company.  Anybody a tax attorney here?  I wonder if the IRS would be interested in this stuff.

what they do is have the person attach the childs name to the forum/donation and it goes towards their monthly tuition. dont know if the still do it or not but thats what the rumor was a while back.

I was struck by the similarities that "sample letter" above had with the proverbial Nigerian scam letters. Almost the same grammatical style as well!

The Christopher S. Landre Foundation, aka the Star of Life Foundation, like firstresponder notes, appears to serve as a funneling agent for donations towards program tuitions when families cannot come up with the entire funds themselves. They also appear to serve as connecting agents to hook up families with EdCons and other personnel who will advise and recommend "approved programs" suitable for a family's needs. The end-all goal appears to be to get kids into these "excellent" programs! Whether or not these programs are all WWASP, I do not know. The website skirts being specific on those details.

The organization maintains the following two websites, which are more or less identical and share many of each other's pages:

Here is a more involved description from their website:

—•?|•?•0•?•|?•— —•?|•?•0•?•|?•— —•?|•?•0•?•|?•—

What does the Star of Life Foundation do? (http://http://www.cslandre.org/about.html)

The objective of the foundation is to help families that have younger members with behavioral conditions and disabilities or minimal learning disabilities consider options in therapy and residential treatment to include funding avenues and alternative methods to afford such treatment.

Facilities for treatment can range from psychosocial therapy facilities to cognitive education centers. Behavior modification and conditioning changes are needed for successful treatment in various ADD, ADHD, ODD, Bi-polar, boarder-line personality and other conditions. Psychiatric and psychological therapy assistance can range from acute care to residential treatment. All of which have a high cost.

Such assistance and 24/7 environment for younger individuals have ranged from intensive negative behavior modification to positive peer culture. Many families do not understand the types of services available and need an unbiased observer organization that works with educational consultants, program administrators and the overall process. Part of the daily activity within the foundation includes: research of current methods and types of therapy, develop clarity of information about types of programs available, finding alternative avenues for funding, referring qualifying families to professionals and services for independent educational plans, communicating with educational consultants and program admissions regarding clients, and reviewing programs and schools that services such clients, etc.

Funding treatment is the hardest hurdle for most families. The cost for long-term therapy in this arena is normally out of the range for many families. The psychological and behavioral services at many of these operations are normally in line with current standards, theory and practice. The training and education of staff, providing accredited education packages and full residential/nutritional services is costly. Most facility fees are usually justified once the overall service is considered based on needed therapy. No matter how justified, the family goes from an emotional extreme in caring for their family member to another extreme of how to afford the cost of treatment.

Most health insurance companies do not cover long-term residential treatment programs in their policies. Acute care portions are limited to short-term stays with concentrated psychiatric service. Long-term therapy provides long term conditioning and has been proven effective. The process is longer and can range from 6 months to several years in duration depending upon reaction to therapy. Families must consider the overall cost of needed services. Some families are able to obtain federal educational loans through lending services. Others must use creative directions that include taking mortgage notes on their property. There are many more who do not qualify and must find alternative methods to include fund-raising. Unfortunately, there are many families that are unable to provide and cannot give their family member the needed treatment.

Star of Life Foundation has helped many families in all of the important areas mentioned above. Our obstacles are many but we look for ways and means. We help the family “turn over rocks” and offer potentials but not false hope. We provide clarity and understanding. We have helped raise significant funds that are never enough. Most importantly, the foundation is doing! We are progressive and search avenues of support. We are out there making people aware of the epidemic numbers of individuals in need of therapy. We appreciate corporate sponsorship and financial support to help those that cannot help them selves.

On Jeanne Shockley:

"In September 2001, we were in crisis with our 13 year old daughter and found we no longer knew how to deal with her issue’s and placed her in a therapeutic facility for 22 months. During that time I was able to work on family issues and working toward transition of our daughter back into our home.

I learned about the C.S. Landre Foundation during this time and participated in fundraising events to benefit the great cause which is advocated through the foundation.

I began working for the foundation in January 2004 in Operations and enjoy working with families who are in crisis, supporting them, educating them and creating an atmosphere of awareness. The work I do at the foundation is rewarding and humbling at the same time because I have walked in the shoes of many parents who call our office."

Chrissakes, it's like a Hyde HAPA cult... These parents have all been sucked into WWASP's self-perpetuating scheme in the name of "giving back." Note the lingo. They have all been duly seminared into happy camper group think.

I have always loved children, which drew me to the C.S. Landre Foundation - anything I can do to improve a child's life is worth my time and effort. It is a pleasure to be in service to this very important cause of raising funds to assist children and families at risk.

Hello, My name is Phil Bowers. My wife and I are the Chicago Regional Directors. We got involved with the Landre Foundation in January 2001. We staffed a seminar in Chicago and noticed there was not a Foundation table, so we called Lance and told him that there needed to be representation in the Chicago region. He then made us the Directors!

We started our journey in January of 2000 when we sent our daughter to a behavioral modification program. Doing the seminars has helped a lot in my personal growth. We have staffed around 14 seminars. Working with the Foundation has really enhanced my life.

Thank you,

My name is Debbie Wood. I am a courageous, powerful and joyful woman whose purpose is to love unconditionally and touch the lives of others. What better way to live my purpose than to work for the C.S. Landre Foundation?

Our youngest son, Sam, was escorted to a behavioral modification boarding school on April 2, 2002. He completed his program in December, 2003, and three weeks later, I began working at the same school as a Family Representative of lower level boys.

We have completed all seminars that were offered to me, and we have staffed both Adult and Student seminars. In addition, I have also staffed several parent/child seminars.

I started and help administrate an on-line parents’ support message board which helps fill in some of the gaps that were offered by other sources. It now has over 200 active members. I left my position at the program school in July 2007 and moved back to California in December, 2006. We are enjoying being nearer our adult sons and my parents. I also work as a digital artist and web page designer. We now reside in Chico, California.

Why would WWASP be suggesting donation to a 501(c)3 entity?  I wonder if what they're doing is legal, considering they're basically using this front 501 to funnel money into a for profit company.  Anybody a tax attorney here?  I wonder if the IRS would be interested in this stuff.

Title: Who is Christopher S. Landre?
Post by: Ursus on February 03, 2009, 10:20:41 PM
Christopher's Story (http://http://www.cslandre.org/christopher.html)

Christopher S. Landre was once a vibrant teenager, yet he chose a path paved with self-destructive choices that ended in his death on June 12, 1997. Due to Christopher's non-working behavior, his parents enrolled him in a residential treatment facility that provided behavior modification. He was just beginning to reflect positive changes when his parents had to pull him from the facility due to financial constraints.

Once home again, Christopher applied the new tools he had learned for six months and created positive results for himself. Unfortunately, he eventually succumbed to peer pressure to try a new kind of "high" referred to as huffing, and subsequently committed suicide. One factor stood out for the Landres at this time -- their son had not fully internalized the tools for change.

As a result of this event, Christopher's parents created a foundation. Clearly wanting to make a difference in their community and prevent this senseless tragedy from happening to other families, they created the C.S. Landre Foundation. Its purpose is to locate financial resources to help families of teenagers in crisis who, without this support, would otherwise be unable to receive the necessary help required for their sons and daughters. The Landres knew that the chain of events leading to Christopher's death reflect social problems that continue to threaten the lives of children everywhere.

Christopher's life continues to have a ripple effect. Two days after his death he gave the gift of life to five people who received his organs. Marcie Becker, an artist, received two of Christopher's organs.

As an expression of her gratitude, she created the Star of Life that is now our logo. The Star of Life includes five points representing the five lives that were saved by Christopher's gift, and a swirl at the center, signifying the unifying love that emanates outward throughout mankind when one is touched by a giving spirit. Christopher's life and death- and the lessons to be learned from them- have reached far and wide to those who have come to the foundation seeking help. It is our intention to continue to comfort and assist families in crisis to be whole and unified once more.

In late 2005, CS Landre aka Star of Life Foundation got associated with one of WWASP's several renaming attempts, namely the "Supporting Teens" folks (the site is no longer functional). A Woodbury Reports Editor's Note regarding that website noted the following:

We were contacted by a parent who called the Supporting Teens phone number about his son and almost immediately received emails with considerable detail from Kathy Allred, Admissions Coordinator, LIFELINES FAMILY SERVICES, http://www.lifelineshotline.com (http://www.lifelineshotline.com) and http://www.lifeslinesfamilyservices.com (http://www.lifeslinesfamilyservices.com) (this one seems to be not available). The resources mentioned in the emails included C. S. Landre "Star of Life" Foundation.[/list]

All of the "several specific specialty boarding schools" associated with the emails were WWASP programs. See this post for more detail: viewtopic.php?f=44&t=20367&p=319991#p319991 (http://www.fornits.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=44&t=20367&p=319991#p319991)

Is this kid on the program death list

Wow... these are people are in DEEP. All those "I am" statements. Ew.
This is disgusting, disturbing, and extremely sad. These people were once normal, thinking individuals.

Gilcrease must be proud.

I think you mean the "contracts".  I am a brave, powerful etc.

Mine was "I am a brave, honest, and worthy young man."  It sounds disgusting.  Especially the "worthy" part.

I believe she was referring to the Director statements (former WWASP parents) on the cslandre.org website, which were quoted in the post immediately preceding Yael's post.

I'm sure if some student "contracts" had been posted, it would have generated a similar response.

Goes to show the degree of brainwashing that kids and parents get subjected to by WWASPS indoctrination...

Coincidentally I've been sculpting/painting a zombie today.

I'm gonna make a bunch of zombies over the next few days/weeks.  They're always in season and good to have in a portfolio.  Maybe i'll start modeling some of em after famous programmies / ed-cons.
Wow, that is scary but cool looking at same time. Did you really sculpt that? If so you are talented. Let's see the rest of them.

Neither of the websites once operated by the CS Landre Foundation/ Star of Life are in operation. Also little is to be found online about their dealing with WWASP in the present day.

Anyone have any updates/ News on this organization... Possibly a number I could call to get more info.

Thanks.
