Doesn't it feel a bit bitter-sweet?

I mean, this new admin. is achknowledging torture.

Does it give you hope for our POW camps still booming by the 100s?

Looks like they are going to move the whole thing into pennsylvania.

It's bad news for USA citizens. Just because of some political fight about torture that USED to happen they close down the best location to keep the most dangerous terrorists in the world.
It would only make me feel good if they would shoot the terrorists first and change the policy not to take prisoners on the battlefield and to institute death penalty for terrorist acts.
I am not in favour of a police state but I am also not in favour of the deceit that there is no terrorist threat and that they wish to be rehabilitated. They are like the Mafia, even to hold them alive in prison is dangerous because they have a wealthy ruthless organization dedicated to releasing them and getting them back to work again.

Now if Obama can close Guantanamo, why can't Harper close Canada's very own torture camp :  the AARC?
Who knows? Maybe the photo shoot wil surface sooner or later.

Just the difference between Republicans and Democrats thinking.  Obama/Democrats wants to move them to Pennsylvania and then try to rehabilitate them, give them free counseling and free college education, cable TV, maybe build a big Mosque with some of the bailout money so that they get their freedom of religion, etc. and then integrate them back into society.  The last think we want is for terrorists to feel uncomfortable.  If they could get terrorists recognized as a minority class they could get benefits and enjoy a better life style
