I dont think I can post on that site anymore. The acceptance of a child abuser openly discussing tactics as if we are sitting at dinner discussing politics is too much for me to handle. It pisses me off to no degree.

But what realy gets to me is arguing with other program survivors. That realy bring me down and I don't like doing it. I used to feel like since we all went through the same shitty experience that we would at least be able to agree on the solution, or even at least the definition of the problem we have with these programs. We can't even do that. It's disheartening to say the least.

I mean shit, if we cannot agree on this kind of basic thing, what hope is there for society at large to have a discussion and resolution regarding this topic? Zero.

I read that Judge Bean said he worked at Bethel Boys before the current program he works at, and that he left when WWASPS took over because it was abusive. There are lawsuits that say that the place was abusive well before WWASPS took over, during the time that Judge says he worked there. I don't know how anyone takes this child abuser seriously.

To me this all seems like a big PR campaign on his behalf, and using naive program survivors to serve his goal just like Sue Scheff did with those boys she dragged around as her "living credibility". Ugh!

Open Free for All / Tobacco Tax: Whadda You Smokers Say

End socialized health care and govt. involvment and poof the problem is suddenly gone. The reason why people give a shit about other people smoking and getting fat is because they think they have to pay for it. Theyve been banned in almost all public areas now.. people accepted and you helped out the waitresses, but now its time to stop. But it wont, they want them completely illegal.. until the very tobacco plant is illegal, and they engineer a genetic virus to destroy all tobacco crops worldwide, think Im kidding?

Stock up on cigs boys, there's a fortune to be made soon! If you outlaw cigarettes only outlaws with have ciggarettes.  :P

The Troubled Teen Industry / The psychology of torture

Quote
As the gap between the 'I' and the 'me' deepens, dissociation and
alienation increase. The subject that, under torture, was forced into
the position of pure object has lost his or her sense of interiority,
intimacy, and privacy. Time is experienced now, in the present only,
and perspective?that which allows for a sense of
relativity?is foreclosed. Thoughts and dreams attack the mind
and invade the body as if the protective skin that normally contains
our thoughts, gives us space to breathe in between the thought and
the thing being thought about, and separates between inside and
outside, past and present, me and you, was lost."

Torture robs the victim of the most basic modes of relating to
reality and, thus, is the equivalent of cognitive death. Space and
time are warped by [[sleep deprivation]]. The self ("I") is
shattered. The tortured have nothing familiar to hold on to: family,
home, personal belongings, loved ones, language, name. Gradually,
they lose their mental resilience and sense of freedom. They feel
alien?unable to communicate, relate, attach, or empathize with
others.

Interesting stuff. ::ftard::

You are picking the worst people in a HUGE population and attributing their activities to others. Most people use alcohol and drugs and don't do the things you say. What percentage of the population takes alcohol and drugs.. and why aren't they all doing the horrible things you describe? So because a small minority of people are causing trouble everyone gets punished? Nah, that doesn't cut it. You don't lock people up just because they are bad family members. If people kill other people while high or drunk they go to jail like everyone else. If you want to change your laws and dont like the cushy prisons thats your countries business but people here arent enjoying state of the art prisons after killing people.

I would love to see the 90 minute version as well.. i only have the 53 minute copy. i love the ending where the kid paints the rocks with the statement that was written at the hobbit.. let freedom reign.. out in the open desert.. it was symbolic and very powerful. i really thought this movie was well done and cant wait to see the lengthier version. i emailed the sales company and they said email the producer so im waiting for a response...

We are in complete agreement about trying to force our views on other people.

I was talking more generally about the theory about people not using drugs. It morphs from a thought, into laws, and finally into an outright war on citizens. Sorry I wasn't trying to argue with you or anything. Just talking about US drug policy in general.

I do not dislike it.

I jus want to point out you can recreationally use substances that change how you feel and it NOT be a problem.

Because none knows what is in the pills, just one pill could mean death. That is the nice thing with alcohol. Just read the label carefully and you know how much you are drinking.

Some also overdo it out of lack of knowledge (This link was meant to be fun, if it was not to tragic: http://www.darwinawards.com/darwin/darwin2006-05.html)

So don't take drugs. That is my point of view.

But again, It is your decision. If you dont feel that is a problem, it is not my job to force you to alter your intake.

Alcohol kills a heck of a lot more people than do drugs in the US. Prescription drugs by doctors kill a lot more. Guns kill a lot more. Sexual behaviors kill more.

Annual Cause of Death in the US

Tobacco     435,000
Poor Diet and Physical Inactivity    365,000
Alcohol    85,000
Microbial Agents    75,000
Toxic Agents    55,000
Motor Vehicle Crashes    26,347
Adverse Reactions to Prescription Drugs    32,000
Suicide    30,622
Incidents Involving Firearms    29,000
Homicide    20,308
Sexual Behaviors    20,000
All Illicit Drug Use, Direct and Indirect    17,000
Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs Such As Aspirin    7,600
Marijuana    0

i found it pretty interesting, especially the part about the stanford prison experiment. i noticed those middle aged men who participated still show emotion and have vivid memories of their exerpience that was less than a week.. and here parents lock there kids up for years to be treated like that.

the 7th grade teacher during the shocking experiment.. how she smiled and stuff.. creepy.

Every adult can make the decision fro themselves. If they want to die, or do something that might potentiall lead to their death, it's their choice. I feel doing drugs is a good thing, however I don't spend my life trying to get everyone else to try them. Or start political parties based on prohibition. Nobody cares what other people's views are unless they start trying to force them on others. That's when the problems begin.
