Title: CEDU songs
Post by: Antigen on December 26, 2004, 01:13:00 PM
Just found a CEDU site.
http://www.cedugraduates.com/ (http://www.cedugraduates.com/)

There's some interesting stuff there. Rumor has it that CEDU stands for Charles E. Dederick University.

Here's their song list.

How many of those songs do you remember from The Seed?

Properly read, the Bible is the most potent force for atheism ever conceived.

It's my head, I'll get into it if I want.

The great enemy of truth is very often not the lie-deliberate, contrived, and dishonest-but the myth-persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.

Hehe.

I remember five at least from the St Pete seed. Very interesting. Ginger, some people here may not understand that CEDU was the first synanon type (that we know of) JUVENILE treatment center, predating the seed by two years. They may also not know of the similarities of treatment modality or the complaints of the "graduates".

Here's the funny thing. I don't remember most of those from Seed open meetings. I do remember a few from Straight, though. So... how did those items on the approved song list skip Ft. Lauderdale and make it into the Tampa Bay cult-ure?

Since you [US "drug tsar" McCaffrey] control a federal budget that has just been increased from $17.8 billion last year to $19.2 billion this year, is asking people like you if we should continue with our nation's current drug policy like a person asking a barber if one needs a haircut? --

some of those songs weren't on the regular rotation but were sung nevertheless but I don't think in front of audiences...

James taylor you've got a friend
Abraham, Martin & John
What the world needs now
He aint heavy hes my brother

as several  examples.

At CEDU, Neil Diamond and John Denver comprised the majority of our approved song list, and were also played in our intense (mind fucking) propheet experientials.  Thankfully--don't laugh--I liked both singers as a little girl so CEDU didn't ruin ND and JD for me, but I always felt bad for Neil Diamond's son who went to CEDU with us and had to listen to the man who sent him there over and over again, especially during those crazy head spinninig propheets.

...I loved 'Shiloh'...still do!

"Papa said he'd love to be with you, if he had the time...but the only place safe is in your own mind"...or something like that.

Can't believe that his son was in the same boat. I'd be interested in Shanlea's response to 'the kids are alright' thread...
