I've been mulling this affidavit thing over for the past couple of days...And I'd like to go ahead and swear one out...but...I wonder if it
is even worth it. Let me explain - the thing is, was I party to enough of what the COURTS would consider abuse? That's why I'm writing....

Ok - I had to sit bolt upright for 12 hours a day, couldn't always piss when I wanted to, deprived of sunlight, deprived of a pillow on my 1st night, was yelled at, insulted, etc...I witnessed (other newcomer in my host home) someone being made to wear the same shirt for at least a week, someone being made to climb up and down a stepladder all day...someone being 'nitpicked.' Was present for at least one 'bust ass' rap...But the problem is, could any of this be LEGALLY considered abuse? It ain't much compared to some of the horrors that others witnessed and/or were victims of. I just don't know if it's even worth it, but I'm open to comments and I'd like to hear some...please let me know what you all think about this, should I bother or not?...FR13

Ginger,

Are we really to believe this? I have to doubt, I've gotten skeptical by now...I guess what I'd like to see is some kind of statement from you confirming the validity of this claim*...until then I, for one, will not get my hopes up...

*and a little more about their 'plan' if you know about it...

Man does that bring back some memories...I mean your whole description of that...I remember the sound of the chairs sliding and breaking apart from each other when someone started acting up...the hands over the mouth, etc...Now what I'm wondering is THIS: To what extent did staff go to cover up these injuries??__Ok, there was this kid who I'll call Kevin Grimes and this other guy who we can refer to as Carl Palumbo. Carl broke Kevin's ribs & it was probably, oh, sometime in late 82 or maybe early 83. Anyway, I was IN then and didn't hear about it until I READ ABOUT IT HERE! So what would they (staff) do? Let's look at this for a minute...ok let's say Joe misbehaver's leg gets broken. What now? Whay do they say to us? Can anyone remember incidents like this? I hope that someone can remember something...how would they cover up what happened? Besides cutting out the victims tongue or killing them outright, how in the hell would they keep him/her from speaking up??!?

"Sorry I can't be of more help on that."

 - No problem. Yeah, I'm running IE5.00.2614.3500IC...LOL

"BTW, you'll never catch me with a copy of ME or especially XP (Xtra Proprietary) on any of my machines."

 - Can't say I like XP's interface or 'proprietary' rep.. I ended up w/ ME & learned to deal with it after some reading - "Windows ME Annoyances", & doctoring (un-installing the System Restore feature, as well as half the programs that it came with.) So now it's like a 'souped-up' 98SE...which is fine...ME has to be the most hated OS of all time - and that's understandable considering the way that it is 'out of the box.'

Hmmm...privacy tab...I'm running Win98SE - no privacy tab in (or under) any of the 6 tabs of the Internet Options applet...what OS do you run? I'll venture to guess W2K or XP...

The very 1st album that they released (sometime before the album with "I Want You To Want Me" on it...) is a great album...

85DJ: "I was a new kid at a new school, and the member of a secret cult as well."

Weird, I remember that feeling. I was in a high school in Montgomery Cty. called McGruder - no one knew me, but I think that they knew that I came from that 'weird place'...

"IN THE STREET" (Bell/Chilton)

Hanging out, down the street
The same old thing we did last week
Not a thing to do, but talk to you

Steal your car, and bring it down
Pick me up, we'll drive around
Wish we had a joint so bad

Bust a street light
Out past midnight

It depends on HOW you use the net. Yeah, if you're just surfin' porn or posting on this site, you may not learn that much about the inner workings of your machine...but heck, I thought you could learn a thing or two from them there uh...tech sites or those whaddyacallits - those uh, newsgroups... "it's not what you do, but the way that you do it..."  ::nod:: And, those are some interesting ideas about creating your own electricity

"I've got nothing to hide."

Maybe you don't, but suppose you find out that your best friend or your brother does...I'll spare you the "oh you don't care what happens as long as it doesn't happen to YOU" schpiel, because you have openly admitted that. Fine. Be that way. Personally , as far as this 'political or not' thing goes, I guess I'm somewhere in the middle. I admit that I'm not all that into it myself. I might smoke now and then, but my 'holding' days are over. But that's beside the point. We all know what's going on. Some of us do. I don't even want to start in with the dry topics about the hypocrisy of the war on drugs, etc...WE KNOW WE KNOW WE KNOW...we may know and be tired of hearing about it but that doesn't make it go away...I can certainly see being bored w/ the "political crap." I can! But can you honestly say that you don't care      <<<<<<<<+>>>>>>>>

MG8: "none of that computer stuff would work with no electricity, be thankful that you still have it."

Bless us O lord, & these thy sparks which we are about to receive, thru thy electrodes, thru our skulls, Amen...
But seriously, I've often thought of trying to come up with some kind of backup in case of outage...I've considered a gas-powered generator. Anybody have any other ideas?  - FR13

PS - Let's not let the topic of computer security fall to the wayside, either...
