At least if this bill passes...
http://www.washtimes.com/upi/20060511-114314-2665r.htm
It's aimed at MySpace but it also applies to message boards. "Online predators" ya know...

They serve so that we don't have to. They offer to give up their lives so that we can be free. It is, remarkably, their gift to us. And all they ask for in return is that we never send them into harm's way unless it is absolutely necessary. Will they ever trust us again?

How many guys named Larry are at Hyde?
So post anon or if you must register choose a
screen name that dosen't include any part of
your name or otherwise identify you.
I know, I know I'm violating my own rule but I'm
not at Hyde anymore and they can't put me on
work crew anymore.

Web forum hosting / "@hyde.edu" e-mail addresses?
« on: May 20, 2005, 03:39:00 PM »
Antigen, I just got a personal message from a kid
at Hyde. I think he's a current student at Hyde
because he included an e-mail address ending in
"@hyde.edu". I sent him a strongly worded PM
back warning him not to use that address again
because Hyde can legally read his traffic at
that address - it's their server, right? Was I
correct in that?
Anyway, Hyde, unique among gulags as far as I can
tell, provides their kids with a computer lab
connected to the 'net. Call me a worry wart but
I can't belive that Hyde ain't reading kids'
e-mails. Also, I told him to post while at home
on vacation lest Hyde be using spyware. Penny
for your thoughts...
Peace,
Tommy

Being sleepy can impair someone's ability to do thier job.  People
can sleep at home and come to the job with sleepiness still in their system. The sleepiness can still be there long after the employee has slept. When someone is found to be sleepy on the job, they can claim that they went to sleep the night before.  The only solution to this problem is to ban employees from sleeping.

Hyde Schools / "Sports" at Hyde Schools
« on: April 14, 2005, 01:50:00 PM »
When I was at Hyde Bath in '76 90% of the abuse
was passed off as "sports". The worst was during
the winter season wrestling. If you weren't a
talented athlete already, you wrestled in the
winter. The way Hyde won meets was to require
large guys to starve themselves to lose an
unhealthy amount of weight to get into smaller
weight classes (Hyde rarely won unlimited). The
punishment for not "making weight" was called
"sharking". this meant that the whole team lined
up and you had to wrestle one guy for one minute,
then the coach blew the whistle, then a fresh
wrestler came in, the whistle blew again, another
fresh wrestler etc, etc, etc... You can't win.
Also, people who couldn't perform were routinely
accused of "being on drugs" (as if the townies in
Bath would deign to sell us drugs   )
Anyway, if anyone has a Hyde sports story this is
the thread for it.
Peace,
Tommy

Hyde Schools / "Outpost" and "Dean's Area" what are they?
« on: April 10, 2005, 01:39:00 PM »
I went to Hyde School in 1976 and never heard of
either of those terms. I guess that a lot can
change in 29 years so they must have been added
since then. If OD or anyone else can explain
I'd be greatful.

The problem with the "teen help" industry is that it's a bad "solution" in search of a problem.

The Troubled Teen Industry / Rouge Valley Ranch School in Oregon?
« on: April 03, 2005, 06:07:00 PM »
I have no specific allegation about this place
except that I heard many years ago that it was
bought by a super disiplinarian the year after
I attended. I was there school year '75-'76 so
the sale would have been SY '76-'77. The lady who
bought it I think was named Miriam Levinson. Her
son was there the same year I was and had gotten
very badly beaten up because he'd snitched on
some folks (the inmates were running the asylum
the year I was there). Anyway, my informant told
me that it was a very messed up place after
Levinson took over. The location is Central
Point, Oregon, near Medford.
Anyway, I wondered if anyone out there has
heard about it or even if it's still open.
      Thanks,
        Tommy

The bible teaches that woman brought sin and death into the world, that she precipitated the fall of the race, that she was arraigned before the judgment seat of Heaven, tried, condemned and sentenced. Marriage for her was to be a condition of bondage, maternity a period of suffering and anguish, and in silence and subjection, she was to play the role of a dependent on man's bounty for all her material wants, and for all the information she might desire...Here is the Bible position of woman briefly summed up.
