Hi everyone!
"Over the GW" is being released theatrically in NYC starting on June 27th at the Pioneer Theater (East 3rd Street, between Avenues A & B).
In addition to that we'll be having a sneak preview of the film, also at the Pioneer, on Sunday June 3rd at 2pm. This special screening was made specifically for suvivors and their families. After the film there'll be a Q & A with key cast and crew members. Tickets for this event are only $5 and will be available on a first come first serve basis (the theater can fit a maximum of 99 people). The theater will have a link up soon where advanced tickets can be purchased. As soon as they do I will send out an email with the link. I look forward to seeing you all there!
sincerely,
Nick
P.S. DVDs will be available very shortly as well.

goddamn it, I live in San Francisco.
-
I know. It's about a 5 hr drive for me, but I'm thinking about it.
-
I might be driving from Toronto...

Driving up most likely. it's a sunday. why not. Look forward to meeting you druggie scum in person
a 5 hour Drive? You must live in west Pa or something... It's pretty much 5 hours for me.

Yeah, I'm out by Pittsburgh.
-
Rather than make such a long drive, why not just buy the DVD for $40. I got mine a couple weeks ago -- it took less than a week from online order to arrival in my mailbox.

My dad wants to come.. I think it's just because he doesn't want me to be around other "druggies" but hell.. he might learn something. Is it kosher for him to come... or is this strictly for survivors of shitholes?

Survivors and families, my S.O. and I are going.
Woohoo, Vancouver to NYC ~5000km; I think I get the prize for longest drive.

buying tickets.. done.
Shit. I've considered driving to California to go videotape Benchmark "sucess stories" living in the drainage canals...
But heck... I'm taking the train to NYC...
See all you guys there... How will we recognize each-other. I mean... I have a photo for my avatar...
honestly, though, I'm kinda nervous about my dad coming. I'm much more open with you guys about how things were than I am with him. I don't know how i'll take it... I don't know how he'll take it... It'll be interesting.. that's for sure...

Cause I want to meet the ppl who show up and watch it w/ them.

I would love to force my mother, et al to sit and watch that film. I'll be buying a copy of the DVD when it's officially released (the 7th art version isn't the official release, and I believe the director has some sort of issue w/ it: http://p081.ezboard.com/fkidsofelpaso19 ... =343.topic (http://p081.ezboard.com/fkidsofelpaso19333frm16.showMessage?topicID=343.topic)).
I am really interested in seeing the other people who come out to watch it too.

I'll likely be wearing a blue headscarf :P. May or may not have a baby w/ me - I think she'll be staying w/ relatives in ON for the day.
And the Who had better not be there...

post removed by administration. reason: negative attitude.

The point of the movie isn't to educate SURVIVORS. I Can't see Nick having a problem with a survivor wanting to enlighten a parent. i think that would be the ultimate purpose of the movie. Fuck yeah bring your dad, no question. I don't think you even have to ask. I hope you can get him to go.

Its pretty obvious that "Rachael" is really Samantha "Did you see me on Montel" Monroe.

The pioneer Theater is great, they had the “Slamdance” film screenings there a few years ago, I believe, which was a nice take. Maybe I will head in with my daughter, we haven’t done the theater in awhile.
There is a nice place to eat “Angelo and Maxies Steak house” (http://http://www.angelo-maxies.com/home.htm)…this is a must for those who like steak and would like to experience New York dinning. It’s a little too far to walk from the Pioneer, you will need a cab, but it is worth the extra time.

Yes,and your daughter can give you another blow job in the darkened theater while she remenisces about the wonderful time she had in the abusive program you forced her in to.
Maybe you both can "motivate" together along with the cheerful kids in the movie.
I cant think of a more rewarding bonding father/daughter experience, watching that movie an reliving those program times together.
Its a shame more kids dont have a great dad,"The World's Greatest Dad",like you.

you would have to be a complete idi... oh wait.. you are.
Show up. We'll have a grand old time. Just make sure to announce real friggin loud: "I AM THE WHO"... People just love you to death they do..
seriously. not only is it a bad idea, it's a really really bad idea. This is for survivors and families. unless you consider your daughter a survivor... which you don't. and you just want to rain on the parade. Rent the dvd. k.

He only wishes that his daughter would do something with him.

I am especially good at the "confronting"... wouldn't it be fun to show him the program definition of that word :D

Someone get it on video and post it.
