Wow...this has gotten creepy.  I'm not the timid easily manipulated little girl I was in Straight.  I've had a stroke, gotten out of brain surgery three times, and I have epilepsy now....I am a damn strong person living with the day to day trials.  But I swear, when I start reading some of the things Cesar is saying, my asshole quivers.  Yuck. Some people are just twisted.  It just goes to show that Straight messed up some peole more than others.  Or maybe he was just a bad seed.  That whole thing about calling his host home Aushewitz (sp?) is so messed up.  I am German, and I lived in Germany for a while.  I couldn't even bring myself to visit a place where people had no concept of the preciousness of life.  It's easy to get mad about it, but why waste my time?  I feel pity.  I'll pray for you, C.

I don't know whether to laugh hysterically, cry or vomit after reading this.  Wow...it's powerful...and hits a little too close to home.

Holy Poop!!!!!  Thank you...it's my peeps!   I just posted for the first time today asking if anyone remembers me.  Bridget Carpenter...blonde, short, my dad had a host home in Mesquite, my mother was this really loud crazy tiny thing, uhmmmm....
Chad, you were on staff.  Carmel, you and I were friends.  Lisa...which Lisa are you?  Ceaser was an ASS!!!!  He said my drug test came back positive when I came back from copping out...BS!  He never even apologized.  I haven't seen anyone in a few years.  I married Mike Sherman, but divorced him when he went to jail (crazy!).  I was in touch for a while with Melissa H., Merideth A. and Audra B.  I have lost touch with everyone.  A few people I would like to see again. I recognize some more names on here too...Lori, the two sisters...(now I just forgot your names again.  Sorry...my memory is not the same after I had a stroke.  Anyway...just write me!  I live in Mesquite.

I was in Dallas straight from Feb '90- Sept '91.  Yes, I "commenced", and I was even a staff trainee.  Not long after I got into aftercare...it was over.  I didn't start using again...I just allowed myself to try to start getting back out into the real world.  It's been so long, but the memories still mess with me.  If I try to even begin to explain it to people, I find myself talking for hours about all of the details, and they still find it hard to comprehend this place!  I haven't spoken with anyone from Straight in a few years.  I just lost contact.  So, if anyone remembers Bridget Carpenter (my dad had a host home in Mesquite...let me know!  Or if you prefer...you can e-mail me directly.  I hope to hear from someone soon!
