Title: YLF 2008 raid schedule.. come one come all!
Post by: Che Gookin on December 03, 2007, 12:30:55 AM
With the conclusion of the benchmark campaign I'd like to begin organizing an entire month of raids all across the USA.

I'd like to try and see the following:

1 raid or more every month for the whole year of 2008.

Footage from the raid posted on youtube.

Photos posted on various public internet sites.

I'm aiming for this campaign to kick off in January. To prepare for it I'm going to organize a selection of raid patches and t shirts. The t shirts will be avaliable on Cafe Press and I'm not looking to make any sort of profit off of them. The patches will be made here in Korea and will be custom designed for each individual raid.

An example of a raid patch is:

I will also be making up some YLF regional patches for those who wish to wear them as well. This of course is optional as the entire effort demands that the focus be on the raiding of programs rather than the wearing of proper attire.

The patches will be free of charge and made avaliable as a token of my appreciation for your hard work. Also they look pretty damn cool and might just inspire a few questions giving you the wearer a chance to educated some of the bovine like masses on this issue.

I fully support this, 100%.

And for that matter, I have two ideas

a) four seperate raid groups

b) two that alternate

I doubt one group could do 4 raids in a row for a month... but, eh, who knows.

Anyway, anyone interested in protesting FOR THE KIDS, post here, lets get some shit set up.

And for that matter lets meet up and get to know each other before we start picketing and video-taping. I mean gook and psy became butt buddies real quick but that doesn't mean WE will

I was sort of hoping for 4 different groups to spread the workload out. But I'm guessing we will go with what support that can be raised.

What I suggest is having people claim what week they want in Febuary and should there be multiple raids in one week all the more better.

I propose that the Youth Liberation Organization stage its Second Annual Protest at the Three Springs Paint Rock Valley facility in Trenton, Alabama.

Any of you buttfuckers want to be leader?

Or you could spend your hard earned dollars on transporting yourself to the nearest facility and hosting your own raid. I'll be back in the states after my contract is completed next december. I have plans for several raids at my own expense.

Three Springs will be one of them.

I'd be much oblidged if you can figure out what days are parent days for around that time. Be mighty helpful as the parents all have to drive up the same road to get to PRVB and PRVG.

I'm open to discussion.

Would it help to be strategic about this? Programs that would be good targets might fit some of the following criteria (and others I'm sure you can suggest):

1. Size of program - reaching the most students, etc.
2. Proximity of the main buildings to public areas, such as roads. I've seen pictures of Spring Creek Lodge, for example, and from those pics I would say no one would see you demonstrating.
3. Good documentation of abuse, and/or program survivor on the team.
4. Presence of parents/parents weekend.
5. Others?

Or am I just overthinking this? Che, I know you say any program any time...

The components of a raid. Just ensure people that what I'm proposing isn't a huge financial outlay I want go over a few of the basic elements of what constitutes a good raid. Before I get to that I want to examine what I believe to be a raid well done.

A successful raid reaches the kids in the program.

* These kids need to know that they haven't been forgotten. This is why I believe the signs must point inwards.

A successful raid educates those that come into contact with the protestors.

* By raising the awareness of the community over the long term it is possible that the program can be contained or shut down completely.

A raid well done is one that isn't forced to leave the area by allowing the cops to intimidate them.

* Police presence is benificial as it allows the protestors a chance to educate the authorities.

The only thing a good raider needs is the following:

1 lawn chair

1 sign

a pile of hand outs for the natives

Camera if he or she can manage it.

And dedication to standing firm when the program staff become abusive, police become nasty, and even the kids turn on you.

Just stand your ground, on public property of course, and be polite.

I say pick one within driving distance of your house. Plenty of teen challenges out there to hit.

Quote
1. Size of program - reaching the most students, etc.

It doesn't matter if it is a 1 person program or a 300 person program. Just so long as the kid/kids held inside know that you are there and you are thinking of them. Use signs, loud music(right before you leave), and leave flyers..

Quote
2. Proximity of the main buildings to public areas, such as roads. I've seen pictures of Spring Creek Lodge, for example, and from those pics I would say no one would see you demonstrating.

Febuary might be a good time to avoid Montana.. just due to the weather.. but good point.. which is why I suggest reconning the program before you hit it to get a good idea of the sight lines.
Quote
3. Good documentation of abuse, and/or program survivor on the team.

This is helpful but not needed. I say raid the place based solely on the deprivation of due process, legal representation, and human rights violations. Hell compare the place to Gitmo if you have to.. won't be a stretch in most cases, and in some Gitmo is a holiday paradise in comparison. Just have a good idea of the treatment methodoly and how it is harmful and find out if the company has any lawsuits, deaths, injuries, or staff arrests for crimes against the students.
Quote
4. Presence of parents/parents weekend.

 exactly.. you read my mind.

Quote
5. Others?

Not off the top of my head..

Quote
Or am I just overthinking this? Che, I know you say any program any time...

no you aren't over thinking.. any program anytime yes but a little preperation and investigation can maximize your presence. Knowing the enemy is half the battle as Gi Joe says.

I have one offer of a raid in January. This of course sorta kicks my plans for febuary right in the butt.

So.. perhaps aiming for 1 raid every month of 2008 is a more realistic goal?

By  no means should you be discouraged from attempting to go for more than one raid. I say the more the merrier.

One a month is realistic.

It just depends on a lot of shit. Right now for me I don't have a car (Still saving....) and I'd need to plan ahead.

Right now I'm busy networking getting people on board I know around where I work and live... chill gook.

Pick a facility and pick a month.

Got a few other nibbles hoping to develop some more raid teams. I just ordered 30 YLF patches. They look pretty cool and they are free to anyone who takes part in a YLF Raid.

Of course Psy you have a special edition patch coming your way for the YLF Benchmark Raid.. the one that launched this whole mad enterprise so hold your horses.

Ironically, you can use the NATSAP website to find programs by state, at least NATSAP programs. Go to http://http://www.natsap.org, then Program Directory.

This was what I found for WI, Rogers Memorial Hospital http://http://www.natsap.org/program_details.asp?id=140
I do not recall seeing this facility mentioned on the fornits site, but it might have been mentioned in threads I don't frequent.  Not listed on ISAC. Anyone else know about this program?

Anne Bonney - I see you added me on yim. Leave a message! Yim lets you do offline messaging!

Also, we need to pick a month. I'd say Jan latest, maybe this month later on. But we do need to...

a) meet and greet the raiders

b) scope the place out

c) get the signs and video camera.

Also my voice is a little messed up atm. Paul Bunyan squished my neck under his forearm in Jiujitsu last night... ugh. Megaphone would be a must if we raided anytime soon. I do have a charming hoarseness now, though.

Now is the time. I just feel it in me bones.

http://www.youth-liberation.com/ (http://www.youth-liberation.com/) is getting an ad. I just worked out some of the details w/ Che. I guess the YLF blog is the defacto news letter, so that's a done deal. Soon we'll have Psy's DVD. He promised me a nice jazzy trailer, too. It's not really all that hard to get a demonstration going here and there every so often almost forever. They're fun, all it costs is poster board and marker ink and whatever it costs to carry your shaggy ass to the spot.

Deprogrammed, NCL and some friends just did Pathway Family Center (fka Kids Helping Kids, fka Straight, Inc.) in Milford, Oh and got local ABC affiliate news coverage again. This is the second one in a couple of years. I'm posting pictures and documentary @ http://fornits.com/anonanon/KHK_Protest_11-07/ (http://fornits.com/anonanon/KHK_Protest_11-07/) and DP has some other sites where she's covering it. Check her out.

Let's just make sure we well document and cross promote these events and stay in touch with each other so we can compare notes and tweak our strategies.

Then what? Well, we might be able to raise enough money and awareness (ew!) to crank it up a notch. If I had a rack mounted server right now, we could have done live streaming video on both gigs.

As far as documenting abuse vs getting it on tape, I think it's a good idea to get as much info as practical ahead of time. You have to know what you're demonstrating about, after all, and be sure you believe what you're saying. But Gook's right, a picture tells a thousand words. Just having what passes for a normal conversation with these people tells a whole lot about what's going on, plus it's lots of fun.

Now, as to a next target, I'm thinking we should go after the big McTherapy chains like Teen Challenge. For one thing they're conveniently located to just about anybody who wants to party like this. For another they're largely publicly funded, which constitutes a vested interest on the part of the entire public. They're big! Ask around and see if anybody you know has been through it.

BTW, If anybody does a raid by Christmas, please carry this sign "Your family misses you, they're just not allowed to say so!"

damn dude.. can I use "Your Family Misses You, They just aren't allowed to tell you" for a Zazzle product?

I'm allowing ginger to promote the YLF on Zazzle and such with all proceeds going to support Fornits. So when you buy a YLF product you not only get to piss off programmies you get to help support free speech.
Title: YLF 2008 raid schedule.. come one come all!
Post by: Che Gookin on December 04, 2007, 05:22:05 PM
Also the YLF web page will have an entire section devoted for videos of raids and protests. Let me be clear on this when I say that the page is for aLL Protests.. not just YLF events. i believe it is important that we stand in solidarity with our homies from other orgs like Heal. When they protest we protest and so on and so forth. The protest/raid section of the website is for supporting, acknowledging, and praising prostestors and raiders of all organizations who strive to drive a stake through the hearts of programs.

Further, I want to devote a section for downloadable handouts that you can use freely. PM me potential handouts and such and I'll figure out how to get it all hosted for future use. No point in having to do the same thing 400 times.

Other events I'm hoping to organize..

Visitations to public officials.. visit the mayor, police chief etc.. and give them the good news about the program in their town.

Public speakers.. educating the masses..

I have some other dark deeds in planning and I'll reveal more details about those later. I do promise they will be filled with all sorts of hilarity though.

I was thinking about the best way to get huge media coverage,  I had a little thought, but dont know if it could be done.  Launch a raid in every state on the same day!  Alert the media, the industry would shit their knickers because they don't think we are smart enough to organize something that big.  LOL  Start a sign up board where people from each state can sign up, then noone has to travel too far, and we could hit 50 shitpits all at once.  Can it be done?  I think it can, but then again, I am a hopeless optimist.

This is a good idea, and apparently they ARE all over the place... Incidently, just what do we know about Teen Challenge? I seem to recall reading about an affiliation with the DFAF (sorry, but I don't wanna look it up, and figured someone here must know already), which would be enough for me and should be enough for anyone who wantes to protest them. Che sent me some links that listed four of these in the Balto area; one of the branches listed was on 1226 Calvert St. I know that area well, it's right downtown, and it doesn't seem at all a likely place for a warehouse... Maybe it's just an office? Or Teen Challenge sessions take place in smaller buildings..? Wtf?

Anyway if this place is tied to DFAF, I'd like to see them go down.....

Make a quick stop by to get information on the program for your Wayward "nephew/son/niece/daughter".

wow like the baby from family guy.

How old are you, if you dont mind saying. I find it cra-a-zy. That we endured the same be-mod at the same torture cult in what I'm guessing, is three generations apart.

- a year somewhere between 35 and higher. I graduated RMA in 1990. And you?

- you're right stewy does have a pointy head. But i was referring to Mike Meyers, "So, I married an axe murder". Have you seen it?

- three generations = 18 years or 30 years in your book?
