Title: Why jail for runaways?

1) A poor girl can not live with mother. Although relatives wants to take her in, the mother insist that she must go to jail, where she remained until she was 18.

2) Kim came in for an advise and Dr. Phil send her to Aspen Archievement Academy. Recently she ended up in jail because she ran away.

and now she is in jail.

Why are you putting them into jail? Could it not be that something terrible is wrong in the home and the child should be remove into foster-care instead?

It seems that these rules makes it very easy for a parent to molest a child and get away with it. I am not saying that it is the case in these two cases, but it seems that it is all about blaming the child instead of looking into the matter as a whole.

Post by: tommyfromhyde1 on November 16, 2006, 10:10:33 PM: I went to an adult rehab in the early '90s and I swear that Dr. Phil has the exact same kind of Southern accent as the medical director there. That medical director was the same kind of phoney too.
