If you would have justice in this world, then begin to see that a human being is not a means to some end.  People are not commodities.  When human beings are just to one another government becomes obsolete and real freedom is born; SPIRITUAL ANARCHY.

Another trip down memory lane with this..

I bought this LP when "Roxanne" was getting played on the radio and found out how great the rest of the album was..

As did I.  I even  had a "Support The Police" sticker that I obtained from the local record store/head shop.

Used to have a killer bootleg of a live show they did in Boston in '79 or so......"Walking On The Moon" from that show RAWKED!!!!

Lemonheads--It's A Shame About Ray
« Reply #784 on: February 25, 2012, 11:59:33 AM »
I've never been too good with names.
The cellar door was open, I could never stay away.
I know it's prob'ly not my place.
It's either or, I'm hoping for a simple way to say.

It's a shame about Ray.
In the stone, under the dust,
his name is still engraved.
Some things need to go away.
It's a shame about Ray.

If I make it through today,
I'll know tomorrow not to leave my feelings out on display.
I'll put the cobwebs back in place.
I've never been too good with names,
but I remember faces.

Lemonheads--My Drug Buddy
« Reply #785 on: February 25, 2012, 12:03:30 PM »
Shes coming over,
Well go out walking,
Make a call on the way.

Shes in the phone booth now,
Im looking in.
There comes a smile on her face.

Theres still some of the same stuff we got yesterday.
Theres still some of the same stuff we got yesterday,
Yeah.

Im too much with myself,
I wanna be someone else.
Im too much with myself,
I wanna be someone else.
Im too much with myself,
I wanna be someone else.

So we take off out fionas door,
Walk until its light outside,
Like before when we were on the phone.

We have to laugh to look at each other.
We have to laugh cause were not alone.

As the cars fly up king st.
Its enough to startle us,
Its enough to startle us

I love my drug buddy.
My drug, my drug buddy.
I love my drug buddy.
My drug, my drug buddy.

I went into town to see you yesterday but you were not home.
So I talked to some old friends for a while before I wandered off alone.

It's so hard for me now
But I'll make it somehow,
Though I know I'll never be the same.
Won't you ever change your ways,
It's so hard to make love pay
When you're on the losing end,
And I feel that way again.

Well, I miss you more than ever, since you've gone I can hardly maintain.
Things are different round here every night, my tears fall down like rain.

It's so hard for me now
But I'll make it somehow,
Though I know I'll never be the same.
Won't you ever change your ways,
It's so hard to make love pay
When you're on the losing end,
And I feel that way again.

Van Morrison--"She Gives Me Religion"
« Reply #787 on: March 09, 2012, 08:05:41 PM »
Down the mystic avenue
I walk again
Remembering the days gone by
And I'm knockin' with my heart

And all the girls walk by
In all their summer fashions
And the church bells chime
On a summer Sunday afternoon

She gives me religion
She gives me religion

And the Angel of imagination
Opened up my gate
She said "Come right in
I saw you knockin' with your heart"

And the Angel of imagination
She lit your fiery vision bright
Let your flame burn into the night
I saw you knockin' with your heart

She gives me religion
She gives me religion
It's all right

All the girls walk by
In all their summer fashions
And the church bells chime
On a summer Sunday afternoon

It's all right
She gives me religion
I said "She gives me religion
And I'm knockin' and I'm knockin' with my heart"
And I'm knockin' knockin' with my heart
And I'm knockin' with my heart

Rolling Stones--"Dancing With Mister D"
« Reply #788 on: March 09, 2012, 08:52:26 PM »
Down in the graveyard where we have our tryst
The air smells sweet, the air smells sick
He never smiles, his mouth merely twists
The breath in my lungs feels clinging and thick
But I know his name, he`s called Mr. D.
And one of these days he`s gonna set you free
Human skulls is hangin` right `round his neck
The palms of my hands is clammy and wet

Lord, I was dancin`, dancin`, dancin` so free
Dancin`, dancin`, dancin` so free
Dancin`, Lord, keep your hand off me
Dancin` with Mr. D., with Mr. D., with Mr. D.

Will it be poison put in my glass
Will it be slow or will it be fast?
The bite of a snake, the sting of a spider
A drink of Belladonna on a Toussaint night
Hiding in a corner in New York City
Lookin` down a fourty-four in West Virginia

I was dancin`, dancin`, dancin` so free
Dancin`, dancin`, dancin` so free
Dancin`, Lord, keep your hand off me
Dancin` with Mr. D., with Mr. D., with Mr. D.

One night I was dancin` with a lady in black
Wearin` black silk gloves and a black silk hat
She looked at me longin` with black velvet eyes
She gazed at me strange all cunning and wise
Then I saw the flesh just fall off her bones
The eyes in her skull was burning like coals
Lord, have mercy, fire and brimstone
I was dancin` with Mrs. D.

Lord, I was dancin`, dancin`, dancin` so free
I was dancin`, dancin`, dancin` so free
Dancin`, dancin`, dancin` so free

Dancin`, dancin

Rolling Stones--"Child Of The Moon"
« Reply #790 on: April 02, 2012, 07:38:50 PM »
The wind blows rain into my face
The sun glows at the end of the highway
Child of the moon, rub your rainy eyes
Oh, child of the moon
Give me a wide-awake crescent-shaped smile

She shivers, by the light she is hidden
She flickers like a lamp lady vision
Child of the moon, rub your rainy eyes
Child of the moon
Give me a wide-awake crescent-shaped smile

The first car on the foggy road riding
The last star for my lady is pining
Oh, child of the moon, bid the sun arise
Oh, child of the moon
Give me a misty day, pearly gray, silver, silky faced,
Wide-awake crescent-shaped smile

Flaming Lips--"Chrome Plated Suicide"
« Reply #791 on: April 08, 2012, 07:43:57 PM »
If all my dreams were a tidal wave
And every day was Christmas
We could spend our lives in the drip
At the edge of the world

Cause love does things that you can't see
It's like telepathic surgery
And cuts and scrapes just like Iggy Pop thrown in a hole

If you take away my nerves
And leave just my words
Love would be the best thing in the world

You and me in a chrome reflection
We were born to suffer some
Please don't chase me from this jail
You know it looks so nice

If all my dreams were a microwave
And every day was summer
When I feel this way, you know
We should start our own religion

If you take away my nerves
And leave just my words
Love would be the best thing in the world
And if you take away my pain
Please don't leave my brain
Cause when I think it hurts just the same

The Kinks - Strangers
« Reply #792 on: July 11, 2012, 01:28:08 PM »
Where are you going I don't mind
I've killed my world and I've killed my time
So where do I go what will I see
I see many people coming after me
So where are you going to I don't mind
If I live too long I'm afraid I'll die
So I will follow you wherever you go
If your offered hand is still open to me

Strangers on this road we are on
We are not two we are one

So you've been where I've just come
From the land that brings losers on
So we will share this road we walk
And mind our mouths and beware our talk
'Till peace we find tell you what I'll do
All the things I own I will share with you
If I feel tomorrow like I feel today
We'll take what we want and give the rest away

Strangers on this road we are on
We are not two we are one

Holy man and holy priest
This love of life makes me weak at my knees
And when we get there make your play
'Cos soon I feel you're gonna carry us away
In a promised lie you made us believe
For many men there is so much grief
And my mind is proud but it aches with rage
And if I live too long I'm afraid I'll die

Strangers on this road we are on
We are not two we are one
Strangers on this road we are on
We are not two we are one

Concrete Blonde--"Tomorrow Wendy"
« Reply #793 on: July 16, 2012, 06:09:14 AM »
It is complete now the two ends of time are neatly tied.
A one-way street, she's walking to the end of the line.
And there she meets the faces she keeps in her heart and mind.

They say 'good bye' Tomorrow, Wendy, you're going to die.
They say 'good bye' Tomorrow, Wendy, you're going to die.

Underneath the chilly gray November sky
We can make believe that Kennedy is still alive and
We're shooting for the moon and smiling Jackie's driving by and

They say 'good try'
Tomorrow Wendy's going to die.
Tomorrow Wendy's going to die.

I told the priest, don't count on any second coming.
God got his ass kicked the first time he came down here slumming.
He had the balls to come, the gall to die and then forgive us.
No, I don't wonder why, I wonder what he thought it would get us.
Hey, hey, good bye.
Tomorrow Wendy's going to die.

Hey, hey, good bye.
Tomorrow Wendy's going to die.
Tomorrow Wendy's going to die.

Hey, hey, good bye.
Tomorrow Wendy's going to die.
Tomorrow Wendy's going to die.

Only God says jump,
So I set the time
'Cause if he ever saw her
It was through these eyes of mine!
And if he ever suffered it was me who did his crying.

Hey hey, good bye.
Tomorrow Wendy's going to die
(Tomorrow Wendy's going to die)
Tomorrow Wendy's going to die
(Tomorrow Wendy's going to die)
Tomorrow Wendy'd going to die

Hey, hey, good bye
Tomorrow Wendy's going to die

Hey, hey, good bye
Tomorrow Wendy's going to die
Tomorrow Wendy's going to die
Tomorrow Wendys going to die

Lou Reed - Strawman
« Reply #794 on: July 16, 2012, 01:32:52 PM »
Shout-outs to Froderik and RTP!  I've posted this before about another asswipe  who was involved with Bain Capital, but this time I'd like to dedicate it to Bain's main man Mitthead Romney and anyone else who smells like him...

Lou Reed - "Strawman" from the New York album

We who have so much to you who have so little
to you who don't have anything at all
We who have so much more than any one man does need
and you who don't have anything at all, ah
Does anybody need another million dollar movie
does anybody need another million dollar star
Does anybody need to be told over and over
spitting in the wind comes back at you twice as hard

Strawman, going straight to the devil
Strawman, going straight to hell
Strawman, going straight to the devil
Strawman, Strawman
Strawman, Strawman, yes

Does anyone really need a billion dollar rocket
does anyone need a $60,000 car
Does anyone need another President
or the sins of Swaggart parts 6, 7, 8, and 9, ah
Does anyone need another politician
caught with his pants down money sticking in his hole
Does anyone need another racist preacher
spittin' in the wind can only do you harm, wow

Strawman, going straight to the devil
Strawman, going straight to hell
Strawman, going straight to the devil
Strawman, Strawman
Strawman, Strawman

Does anyone need another faulty shuttle
blasting off to the Moon, Venus or Mars
Does anyone need another self-righteous rock and roll singer
whose nose he says has led him straight to God
Does anyone need yet another blank skyscraper
If you're like me I'm sure a minor miracle will do
A flaming sword or maybe a gold ark floating up the Hudson
When you spit in the wind it comes right back at you

Strawman, going straight to the devil
Strawman, going straight to hell
Strawman, going straight to the devil
Strawman, Strawman, Strawman
Strawman, Strawman...

YOU'RE GOING STRAIGHT TO HELL, MITT!  Hopefully after a stretch in prison...I can hear the Morgan Freeman voice-over now:  "I wish I could tell you that Mitt fought the good fight, and the Sisters let him be. I wish I could tell you that, but prison is no fairy-tale world.  His asshole was wide as a wagon wheel after they were done".
