If lovin' you is wrong, I don't wanna be right.
If being right means being without you I'd rather live a wrong doin' life.
Your mama and daddy say it's a shame it's a down right disgrace.
But long as I got you by my side I don't care what your people say.

Your friends tell you it's no future in loving a married man.
If I can't see you when I want I'll see you when I can.
If lovin' you is wrong, I don't wanna be right.
If lovin' you is wrong, I don't wanna be right.

Am I wrong to fall so deeply in love with you?
Knowing I got a wife and two little children depending on me too.
And am I wrong to hunger for the gentleness of your touch?
Knowing I got someone else at home who needs me just as much.

And are you wrong to give your love to a married man?
And am I wrong for tryin' to hold on to the best thing I ever had?
If lovin' you is wrong, I don't wanna be right.
If lovin' you is wrong, I don't wanna be right.

Are you wrong to give your love to a married man?
And am I wrong for trying to hold on to the best thing I ever had?
If lovin' you is wrong, I don't wanna be right.
If lovin' you is wrong, I don't wanna be right.

I don't wanna be right if it means being without you.
I don't wanna be right if it means sleeping at night.
I don't wanna be right if lovin' you is wrong.

In general, I think you folks should post the artists and the titles of these lyrics, as Froderick does, to give proper credit and context and allow the interested reader to do further research if they choose.

Peace.

If you would have justice in this world, then begin to see that a human being is not a means to some end.  People are not commodities.  When human beings are just to one another government becomes obsolete and real freedom is born; SPIRITUAL ANARCHY.

Nick Drake - "Day is done"
« Reply #738 on: June 30, 2011, 04:19:35 PM »
When the day is done
Down to earth then sinks the sun
Along with everything that was lost and won
When the day is done.

When the day is done
Hope so much your race will be all run
Then you find you jumped the gun
Have to go back where you began
When the day is done.

When the night is cold
Some get by but some get old
Just to show life's not made of gold
When the night is cold.

When the bird has flown
Got no-one to call your own
Got no place to call your home
When the bird has flown.

When the game's been fought
You speed the ball across the court
Lost much sooner than you would have thought
Now the game's been fought.

When the party's through
Seems so very sad for you
Didn't do the things you meant to do
Now there's no time to start anew
Now the party's through.

When the day is done
Down to earth then sinks the sun
Along with everything that was lost and won
When the day is done.

Fuck yourself - Frank Zappa

Fuck yourself with a rubber hose
Stick it in your mouth and down your throat
Up your nose and in your heinie hole
I don't care where it goes
And it don't matter if you're straight or gay
You should fuck yourself anyway
Now, you don't have to listen to a word I say
But I know you, you'll be humpin' away
Fuck yourself with your neighbor's nose
If you can't use that, use a 10-foot pole
Stick it up your ass and go for a stroll
Everyone will know you've been to this show
If you can't take, eat my stool
Masturbate with some crazy glue
I don't care what you do
Fock yourself with a garden tool
Fuck yourself with politics
Ahh they're full of fuckin' fuckin' shit
I mean you know we've been lied to ever since we were born
It's amazing that we've been getting fucked that long
Fuck yourself with the world wide web
Man you could ride that sucker right from your bed
You may even meet a Tom, Dick, Jane or Billy
Then grab onto your modem and fuck yourself silly
Fuck yourself with your heart and soul
Give it everything you got, hey I'm talkin' to you
If you can't even fuck yourself,
How ya gonna fuck somebody else?
Fuck yourself with my microphone
I'll give it to you later when we're all alone
We can turn it up loud
And see if you come, but
Don't get your jizz on my microphone
Fuck yourself with organized religion
Now that is some seriously sinnin' business
If the Lord sees their pathetic crimes
He'll be fuckin' them 'til the end of time
And can someone explain to me this racist crap
I know it isn't white, but it isn't black
And to all you people who only see things your way
Well, you can suck my dick and take all day
Fuck your nose with a pound of blow
Watch your money get up and go
but when you burnt your brain and you say
I don't know!
I hate to tell you but I told you so
Fuck yourself with this grunge rock noise
I mean, stuff those albums in your groin
They come down on me because I know how to play -
Hey... fuck you!
Fuck yourself with a copy of Rolling Stone
Or are they too holy for your holiest of holes
Now those people think they're holier than Moses
But aren't they just a bunch of fuckin' posers
Fuck yourself with your mother's jewelry
I won't tell, I ain't a stooly
If you pounce hard enough you'll cough up a ruby
Your blood will be rich and so will your doodie
Fuck yourself with the latest fashion
With your spikes and your hair and those cute little buttons
And if you happen to have some leather and lace
Fuck yourself 'til you're blue in the face
Fuck yourself with your income tax
They're fucking you and that's a fact
Before you know it your money's all spent
And you've just been fucked by the government
Fuck yourself with your lawyer friend
You're the only one that's getting fucked in the end
I have been so fucked by legal bills
that my asshole is the size of Beverly Hills
Fuck yourself with your full-length sweater
With your minks and your diamonds and your Irish Setter
With your cash and your trash and your sinks and your drinks
Just fuck yourself 'til you can't even think
Those of you who enjoy this song
thank you thank you, I love you
Let's get it on
But for those of you who are totally outraged
Fuck yourself with your face

The Police--"Demolition Man"
« Reply #741 on: July 05, 2011, 10:42:04 AM »
Tied to the tracks and the train's just coming
Strapped to the wing with the engine running
You say that this wasn't in your plan
And don't mess around with the demolition man

Tied to a chair, and the bomb is ticking
This situation was not of your picking
You say that this wasn't in your plan
And don't mess around with the demolition man

I'm a walking nightmare, an arsenal of doom
I kill conversation as I walk into the room
I'm a three line whip
I'm the sort of thing they ban
I'm a walking disaster
I'm a demolition man

You come to me like a moth to the flame
It's love you need but I don't play that game
'Cos you could be my greatest fan
But I'm nobody's friend
I'm a demolition man

I'm a walking nightmare, an arsenal of doom
I kill conversation as I walk into the room
I'm a three line whip
I'm the sort of thing they ban
I'm a walking disaster
I'm a demolition man

Demolition man...

Judas Priest "Diamonds and Rust"
« Reply #742 on: July 09, 2011, 10:44:43 PM »
(Actually written by Joan Baez, but Priest did it the way it was supposed to be done......)

I'll be damned, here comes your ghost again
But that's not unusual
It's just that the moon is full
And you decided to call

And here I sit, hand on the telephone
Hearing the voice I'd known
A couple of light years ago
Headed straight for a fall

But we both know what memories can bring
They bring diamonds and rust
Yes we both know what memories can bring
They bring diamonds and rust

Now I see you standing with brown leaves all around and snow in your hair
Now we're smiling out the window of the crummy hotel over Washington Square
Our breath comes in white clouds, mingles and hangs in the air
Speaking strictly for me, we both could've died then and there

Now you're telling me you're not nostalgic
Then give me another word for it
You were so good with words
And at keeping things vague

Cause I need some of that vagueness now
It's all come back too clearly, yes, I love you dearly
And if you're offering me diamonds and rust, I've already paid

But we both know what memories can bring
They bring diamonds and rust
Yes we both know what memories can bring
They bring diamonds and rust

Diamonds, diamonds and rust
Diamonds, diamonds and rust
Diamonds, diamonds and rust
Diamonds, diamonds and rust

Nazareth--"This Flight Tonight"
« Reply #743 on: July 09, 2011, 10:49:03 PM »
(originally written by Joni Mitchell, but, as with Priest doing "Diamonds and Rust", the Nazareth version is the definitive one)

Look out the left the captain said
The lights down there that's where we'll land.
Saw a fallin'... star burnin'...
High above the... Las Vegas sand.
It wasn't the one that you gave to me
That night down South between the trailers.
Not the early one, that you wish upon;
Not the Northern one that guides in the sailors.

You've got that touch so gentle and sweet
But you've got that look so critical
Can't talk to you babe, you know I get so weak.
Sometimes I think that... love is just mythical
Up there's a heaven, down there's a town
Blackness everywhere and little lights shine
Blackness, blackness dragging me down
Come on light a candle in this heart of mine.

Star light, star bright
You've got the loving that I like
Turn this crazy bird around
Should not have got on this flight tonight.

I'm drinking sweet champagne,
got the headphones up high
Can't numb you, can't drum you out of my mind
They're singin',
"Goodbye baby, baby bye bye,
Oohooh love is blind"

Up go the flaps, down go the wheels
Hope you got your heat turned on baby
Hope they finally fixed your automobile
Hope it's better when we meet again, babe.

Star light, star bright
You've got the loving that I like
Turn this crazy bird around
Should not have got on this flight tonight.
Should not have got on this flight tonight.

Gang of Four--"In The Ditch"
« Reply #744 on: July 09, 2011, 10:52:59 PM »
Heads down, down to the floor
Run past the windows and close the door
Whatever you do stay calm
Show me a ditch and I'll dive it
I'll feel safe beyond the cares of the world

Good news is prospect
Excluding the six feet under

Marshall music the beat goes on
Get down down to the floor
Marshall music the beat goes on
Get down down to the floor

Get down down to the floor
Under the table with the radio on
Whatever you do stay calm
The cupboard is stocked, the door is locked
I'll feel safe beyond the cares of the world

Good news is prospect
Excluding the six feet under

Marshall music the beat goes on
Get down down to the floor
Marshall music the beat goes on
Get down down to the floor

Show me a ditch and I'll dive in it
Show me a ditch and I'll dive in it
Show me a ditch and I'll dive in it
Show me a ditch and I'll dive in it
I'll dive in it
I'll dive in it
I'll dive in it
I'll dive in it

Heads down, down to the floor
Run past the windows and close the door
Whatever you do stay calm
Show me a ditch and I'll dive it
I'll feel safe beyond the cares of the world

Key
(Bachman/Cummings)

John is nineteen and He doesn't see the matter,
of Judas's dream reaching for the piece of silver,
Peter hears the call of the mockingbird from heaven,
crying in the morning, having given up the Key.

And I still call Him my friend
And I still call Him my friend

Joshua puts on his mask and walks the road to Jericho,
Matthew wears the head piece of chrome, speed and fire,
Noah guides the ark through the sea of stolen moments,
searching through his mind for a place to put the Key

And I still call Him my friend
And I still call Him my friend

Joseph tends the sheep in His coat of many colors,
Shadrach and the two, held their faith against the fire,
Barabbas on the cross found that Jesus was the answer
The doors were open wide to all those who find the Key

And we still call Him our friend
And we still call Him our friend
And we still call Him our friend
And we still call Him our friend

The Allman Brothers Band - "Come and Go Blues"
« Reply #746 on: July 16, 2011, 07:50:55 PM »
People say ... that you're no good
But I wouldn't cut you loose, baby, if I could
I seem to stay ... down on the ground
Baby, I'm too far gone to turn around
Oh, if only you ... would make up your mind
Take me where you go ... you're leaving me behind

Lord, you got those come and go ... ohhh ... blues
Woman, you got those come and go ... ohhh ... blues
Oh, and you got me feelin' ... like a fool

Round and round ... round we go
Don't ask me why I stay here I don't know
Well maybe I'm a fool to care
Without your sweet love ... baby I would be nowhere
Well here I'll stay ... locked in your web
Til that day ... I might find somebody else

I don't know ... just when that will be
And I don't know ... I can't say 'cause I can't see

People say ... that you're no good
But I couldn't cut you loose, baby, if I could
Well I seem to stay ... down on the ground
Baby, I'm too far gone to turn around
Oh, if only you ... would make up your mind
Take me where you go ... but leave me and love behind

Woman, you got those come and go ... ohhh ... blues
I already got those come and go ... ohhh ... blues
Oh, and you got me feeling ... like a fool

Jon Kay - monster/suicide America

Once the religious, the hunted and weary
Chasing the promise of freedom and hope
Came to this country to build a new vision
Far from the reaches of kingdom and pope
Like good Christians, some would burn the witches
Later some got slaves to gather riches

But still from near and far to seek America
They came by thousands to court the wild
And she just patiently smiled and bore a child
To be their spirit and guiding light

And once the ties with the crown had been broken
Westward in saddle and wagon it went
And 'til the railroad linked ocean to ocean
Many the lives which had come to an end
While we bullied, stole and bought our a homeland
We began the slaughter of the red man

But still from near and far to seek America
They came by thousands to court the wild
And she just patiently smiled and bore a child
To be their spirit and guiding light

The blue and grey they stomped it
They kicked it just like a dog
And when the war over
They stuffed it just like a hog

And though the past has it's share of injustice
Kind was the spirit in many a way
But it's protectors and friends have been sleeping
Now it's a monster and will not obey

(Suicide)
The spirit was freedom and justice
And it's keepers seem generous and kind
It's leaders were supposed to serve the country
But now they won't pay it no mind
'Cause the people grew fat and got lazy
And now their vote is a meaningless joke
They babble about law and order
But it's all just an echo of what they've been told
Yeah, there's a monster on the loose
It's got our heads into a noose
And it just sits there watchin'

Our cities have turned into jungles
And corruption is stranglin' the land
The police force is watching the people
And the people just can't understand
We don't know how to mind our own business
'Cause the whole worlds got to be just like us
Now we are fighting a war over there
No matter who's the winner
We can't pay the cost
'Cause there's a monster on the loose
It's got our heads into a noose
And it just sits there watching

(America)
America where are you now?
Don't you care about your sons and daughters?
Don't you know we need you now
We can't fight alone against the monster

Buckethead-Funbus

Why has the humor died in music today

everyone is so serious that I'm afraid to say

tough guy stance is lost on me

violence is necessary it proves you are free

happy being sold mediocrity

failure only happens from originality

Its more important to be tough than to have any fun

like an insecure human who fears everyone

music is art that we're afraid to enjoy

like a child who's outgrown his favorite toy

afraid to acknowledge what makes us feel good

afraid to leave the mold , if we only could

a group is always easier to follow

then finding something new to swallow

so give us the art thats boring and plain

its easier to be different when its the same

fear something new till we're told its ok

no time to explore no time to play

the craving for new is something to shun

thinking is bad it spoils the fun

(This is the vikings of humor as they row their mighty warcrafts into battle part)

discover yourself with mass appeal

pretend your choices make you real

"The people, when they have been unchecked, have been as unjust, tyrannical, brutal, barbarous and cruel as any king or senate possessed of uncontrollable power.
The majority has eternally, and without one exception, usurped over the rights of the minority." ~John Adams
