Here is an email message sent to a parent on May 11, 2005. Obviously, parents are concerned enough to contact the Fire Marshal directly. Things have been taken care of. Don't waste this poor man's time with Joyce Harris's annoying tactics.

"Our office completed a Fire and Life Safety Survey on March 22, 2005.
Our office did issue a Notice of Violation and accompanying letter on March 25, 2005 to the Whitmore Academy.  One of the temporary requirements was that a fire watch needed to be in effect each night from 10 P.M. to 7 A.M. to provide early notification to the occupants in case of fire.  Since the Notice of Violation was issued Whitmore Academy has brought the Automatic Fire Sprinkler system on line and have almost completed a second exit from the second and third floors.  Electrical work has been completed and other lesser items of fire safety interest.
Our office has now completed five inspections of Whitmore Academy and the accompanying school with another inspection scheduled tomorrow.  I hope this answers your concerns in this matter.  If you need further information in this matter please email Deputy State Fire Marshal Bryan Thatcher at bthatcher@utah.gov. or our office at 801-284-6350.

Brent R. Halladay
Chief Deputy State Fire Marshal"

I don't find Joyce Harris's concerns annoying at all. But asking Mr. Halladay for an update is part of this "poor man' as you refer to him, job.

Makes me wonder NOW, who complained about potential hazards in the first place? Foot in the mouth again?

Unbelievable that a program would be cited for code violations of this nature (fire safety).

Is this where the program is located? An old house?
