Hot dogs and cereal is "what we ate at home anyway." Tori, that is like your statement to KSL that what goes on at the Whitmore is like what goes on "in normal families."
MOST PEOPLE do not eat cereal and hot dogs day in and day out! If that is the daily diet that your mother feeds her family--then you are are not from a NORMAL FAMILY.
If the behaviors that have been repeated on this forum are what went on in your family--then by far, you were not raised in a NORMAL FAMILY.
Hate to repeat, BUT:
Normal families do not pit kids against other kids. Normal mothers do not curse and spit on their children. Normal families have regular meals, nutritious diets, do not withhold food as punishment, and have regular sleeping routines.
Normal parents do not abuse their children. Normal families value REAL EDUCATION. Normal families do not read private mail, and listen in on telephone conversations, and respect privacy. Normal parents do not time their child's bath. Normal families have linens on their bed. Normal homes are not rat-infested. Normal fathers do not handcuff their children.
NO Whitmore is NOT like a normal family, Tori.

Or maybe when they graduate, they could come back and work at Whitmore just like you, huh?

Why don't you ask Cheryl about sneaking the kids into the all-inclusive Mexioc resort--how this could affect teenagers who are suppose to be developing a sense of honesty and integrity. Ask her why she did something so dishonest, and trashy--when these kids' parents pay thousands of dollars per month, and the Sudweeks could have well afforded to pay for at LEAST ONE NIGHT in a nice hotel for these kids.
Could you ask, and then come back and try to explain this devious, outrageous behavior of Cheryl and Mark Sudweeks? Thanks.
Gmom:
Well, Tori, let's figure it out. 4,000 times 40 equals 160,000 PER MONTH. Multiply that times 12 and you have almost $2 million per year. $4,000 per month can take care of a family of four or five very easily. That includes proper food, proper sleeping conditions, plumbing that works, clothing, school supplies, eating out once in a while, and yes, even trips. All that and more was part of the promised package. Sorry, Tori, but I really don't think you have enough years under your belt, nor do I think you have any idea of what it costs to take care of children. It is not up to you to answer for the Sudweeks. That is THEIR responsiblily. Contracts were made with them, not the kids at Whitmore.
I am at a complete loss as to why there is such an effort to make people feel sorry for the Sudweeks, as if they are doing things out of the kindness of their hearts. They are paid enormous amounts of money for services they claim they provide. They are not sacrificing anything. THEY ARE BEING PAID FOR DOING A JOB. There is only one problem, they are collecting money and really not doing the job. So the people paying them are the ones getting screwed, NOT THE SUDWEEKS.

Tori, did you ask Mark if he is a PEEKER, or do you just assume that he is not one? You know PEEKERS usually are rather sneeky people, and don't TELL OTHER PEOPLE: "Oh, by the way, I really do like peeking on little girls."
If Mark does this, not saying he does---he probably would lie like a bandit if asked about it. So YOU don't really really know if Mark likes peeking or not, now do you, Tori?
You'd like to think he doesn't---but you have no way of really knowing what this man does. Everyone has their little secrets...and being a PEEKER could be Mark's.
So, you really can't speak for him.
