So you were lying, cheating and stealing and being an asshole.Where were your parents? Ivy ridge is a good place for kids who have lousy parents. If your parents had done their job, you would not have been there. All you learned there was respect for yourself and other people. Something you never learned at home. If you should ever have to go to jail, you would find out that 90% of the people there are repeat customers. They can't survive on the outside but they do ok in jail because they haven't any choice.

I agree with this wholeheartedly.  My daughter acts out when I am doing something wrong, like not spending enough time with her.  She's only six, but it applies to teenagers too.  When I was 12, my parents didn't know I was failing all my classes for a whole year.  What were they doing?  Then they sent me away to solve al their problems.

They started making staff go to discovery after I stopped working there in August 04.  I know many teachers that work there that have not gone.  It is the Family Reps. that HAVE to go.  So, I guess you should get your facts straight!!

My daughter is at Ivy Ridge and I keep a close eye on what is going on there and ask lots of questions.  There has not been even an inkling of abuse or out of line treatment in our case.

The staff really seem to care and are very helpful. They are attentive to her needs both personally and medically.

There ARE clearly defined rules that the children must follow and there are punishments (Study Hall, loss of priveledges, etc) when rules aren't followed. The program is results based so the kids that choose to break rules or not participate in the seminars don't advance in the program.    

So far, I'm very happy with Ivy Ridge and I'll continue to monitor the situation.

You DON'T know the whole story. And going by what you write here, it doesn't look like you want to know. You seem very content with the bullshit you're being fed.

ALL of WWASP's gulags-- Ivy Ridge included-- are highly abusive. Do your research.

I'm sure you do know the whole story... you beleive everything you read?  Sounds like your a hypocrite.  Speaking as a graduate from one of the programs that are quote "highly abusive"... I DO HAVE THE WHOLE STORY.... guess what... YOUR WRONG!  You can make yoru pathetic little attemts to say that I'm brain washed or I turned the other cheek or what ever... the only person you are going to convince is yourself.

My Nephews just were sent to Ivy Ridge :cry:  They too have parents that don't have a clue about being a parent. They are basically good kids, all they ever wanted was love, guidance, and parents that took the time with them instead of being wrapped up in their own worlds. It amazes me, people that are suppose to love you unconditionally can just toss kids to the wolves and never look back. Then claim its for their own good. Give me A Break! I pray they will be o.k. I too believe these schools are not in the best interest of children. God bless....
