Deprogammed, you ask good questions. We all feel frustrated when the government & bureaucracy that is supposed to put checks on bad things like child abuse in fact does the opposite and by ignoring or even abetting child abuse institutions ensures their continued existence. Someone is happy with the results of these institutions, whether that happiness is the money or power they get in exchange, or simply the pleasure of watching the scapegoated children get destroyed. The message of Straight and all the child abuse institutions is one of fear. Perhaps our siblings could describe it best, since, while they were not so much in the program, they were certainly terrorized by it, it served as a warning to them.
The fact is, government historically does not serve the people, it serves to maintain power structures. Government is useless. Kudos to ISAC for attempting to go through govt channels to deal with KHK, because the continuing scandal that is the Ohio govt is laid out plain as day.
It does no good to gnash our teeth. Whenever any true change is needed in society, it really takes the people standing up together and creating their own force.
My suggestion for those close to Cincinnati & Milford is to cultivate sympathy and support wherever you can. Talk to churches, irregardless of whether you are a religious person, the fact is that churches can be a powerful force for insisting upon change, as the civil rights movement shows. Granted they can also be a force for evil and have in fact aided and abetted child abuse and genocide. But if you find churches that are interested in social justice, go talk to them. You will also find allies for your cause among political groups, child advocate groups and so on. Again, start talking to them and show them how their ideals are really aligned with yours.
If you live in the Cincinnati area, invest a little bit of money in bumper stickers with a simple message about KHK, or in spray paint and templates for a simple design to get the message out there, make it visible and frequent. Glue& staple up flyers. Organize sit-ins of businesses and individuals that support KHK.
