They closed the Florida home in July due to abuse charges, that is why the only New Beginnings home is the one in Missouri now.

When I made the page about the facility on Fornits Wiki, they had a page on their homepage stating that the florida facility was closed.

It is gone now, but they don't mention it at all.

It must be either closed or run under a different name by other people.

NEW BEGINNINGS MINISTRIES (GIRLS ACADEMY) UPDATE

(Currently located in La Russell, Missouri, previously located in Pace, Florida, previous aliases: New Beginnings Rebekah Academy [Pace, FL] and Rebekah Home for Girls [Corpus Christi, TX])

Just so everyone knows, they did relocate to La Russell, Missouri. They still have the same administrators, Bill and Jennifer McNamara. The home that took over the old New Beginnings property in Pace, Florida is completely unaffiliated w/ New Beginnings and its directors. However, I do not have inside information as to how it operates. I know that for a certain period of time they were (and may still be going by) "Marvelous Grace Academy" at the new place in Pace. Unaffiliated, but considering that they too are U N R E G U L A T E D, who knows what's going on?

Bottom line: Don't put your kid in an unsupervised, unregulated, unlicensed home. Basically you're signing their rights AND your rights away when you do that. The US needs a MAJOR overhaul on this system. Unregulated homes for "troubled teens" has become a major industry and, truthfully, it has been for years. Find another way to help them. This will only hurt your family.

You can get updates on New Beginnings at the following sites:

www.stopNBGA.blogspot.com

On Facebook groups: "NBGA: Proactive Survivors of New Beginnings Girls Academy." This is a group of 60 survivors of NBGA and their advocates.

There's also a new group out there called Surivors of Institutional Abuse: www.SIA-now.org They have info on New Beginnings and places like it.

Check us out :)
