well, that was 80-81.YOU did not have the Barretts over you then. See there was this special program there, it was called friday night licks.Depending on how many demerits you recieved for that week is how many swats(licks) you got.I hope you are speaking of a wonderful place from YOUR era, because you dont need to be my voice or other peoples voice that endured the abuse.
Hooray for you.Should we take a freakin poll in here to see who suffered abuse there? I promise you that you would be suprised.I will tell you this much, I have spoken to Mrs. Barrett 3 months ago and questioned her on it and it felt so damn good to hear her admit a wrong doing.

I was in the home from 1979 thru 1981. On friday nights if you had demerits you got swats, they were NOT beatings. I got swats quite a few times during my stay it wasn't any big deal, didn't leave marks. Mrs. Barret was there, so was Mrs. Cameron, I wasn't beaten, geez. I know what beatings are and swats aren't even close.
I caught Miss Sheri and another girl in a situation that should not have been happening, I turned around, went to my room, next thing I knew she was in my room threatning me,she was the one I had to worry about, I hated her from then on and she scared me. Any torrrment I had came from that situation. Still hate that bitch. I couldn't go to anyone, she was the golden child, so was the other girl.
So,overall Rebekah wasn't bad, was nice having friends. Miss Bitch ruined it for me. :flame:

hey, I'm glad your experience at rebekah was good. I'm not one of the people that think it scarred me for life, but I won't say it was wonderful either. Mrs. Barrett was a woman with issues and they came through when she ran the dorm. I can tell you of abuse, not just swats. Some of the girls here know of when I was forced to run for hours with my knees coming all the way up, AFTER being swatted fifteen times. I could not walk straight for two days after that, and passed out when finally allowed to stop running. That, my friend, constitutes as abuse. In fact, such punishments have killed people with heart conditions, and fortunately I don't have one, but she had no way of knowing that. there was abuse, I saw it. Don't undermine other's experiences because you didn't see it.
