Oppositional Defiance:
Is anybody here familiar at all with the Hyde Schools in Bath, Maine and Woodstock, Connecticut? I went to the school in Woodstock. That place was fucking insane. I haven't found anything on it yet so people now's your chance to speak up about it and maybe we can get some of this stuff off our chests.

I agree with your assesment although Hyde never
QUITE reaches the level of abuse of most of the
programs disscussed on these boards (i.e. it's
not a lockdown facility). I was there for about
5 months in 1976 and ran away in January '77.
I was in Bath as there was no campus in Conn.
in those days. BTW I don't recommend hitchhiking
from Maine to Long Island in January. :scared:
 Anyway do they still make people dig 6'x6'x6'
holes and fill them back in again over and over,
scrub floors with toothbrushes, ect. ? I also
remember a bit o' fun and games called "shadow"
in which a kid is required to follow a senior
around forbidden to talk to anyone and otherwise
very publicly not exist.
 My info is 29 years old so I'd love to hear
about some of the more current practices.
