I think the more important question is why so many people continue in the stayed belief that this time, if only we work a little harder, pay a little more in taxes and regulatory compliance costs, sacrifice just a little more liberty and soverignty, then we can force government to start acting like family and take care of us.

Government doesn't want to look too closely at the 'troubled teen' or treatment industries because these are the government prescribed remedies for the government created problems. It is simply not in their interest to scrutinize the issue too closely. Not only their livlihoods, but their pride, dignity and identity depend on supporting the myths on which this industry is built.


What are politicians going to tell people when the Constitution is gone and we still have a drug problem?
