Looking for Everyone!
JessicaM:
You know what, it is nice not to have someone calling me a "crack whore" on this board. DG and I were simply catching up on old times. It's nice not to have ever topic on this board being them against us.....
That's what the point of that was, two people with two different opinions talking nicely to one another.... so lay off the touchy feely comments, it doesn't always have to be I'm right, you're wrong....

Yeah, I know, mindless brutal raving rage is so much better.
Take a break! Share the love. "

Don't you see, that's the method. It's like a Mutt & Jeff routine. First you break somebody down by (for example) demeaning them and calling them names like "crack-whore", etc. When their self worth has been totally destroyed, you then overwhelm them with "love" and the Stockholm syndrome takes over. It looks to me as though JessicaM is still ambivalent about her experience. Interesting how Rachael has not gotten any open responses to her post. Why don't you talk to her, JessicaM?

I have talked to her privately. It was also just nice to talk to someone who I didn't have a completely negative experience with while in treatment. I am okay with saying not everyone involved with aarc had or has bad intentions. I just think it's refreshing when someone is okay with my opinion and I'm okay with his. That's the whole point isn't it. To be heard.

Is EVERYONE who doesn't share your anger deluded? I would hazzard a guess that for every 200+ AARC graduate, there are 200+ different experiences. I certainly don't need everyone to agree with me in order to have an opinion about my experience. I am interested in hearing everyones experience, and where they are at today. It would be great to know where everyone was at, and how many blame AARC for their failures, credit AARC with their success, or take responsibility for their own life, like Rachael did in an earlier post. Anger, hatred, blame and pity may feel great for a while, but they have done me no good. Perhaps a little more care, understanding, and yes, love may be in order.
Rachael:
No one with whom I was in AARC has yet contacted me... so as far as "cowardice" is concerned, I've not yet been convinced otherwise.
