I am starting up a community so as to get in touch with old friends after leaving AIR (the no personal info rule screwwed me) and making new friends as well.

That's a great idea for your group.  Our Victor Christian Academy and Genesis by the Sea group has been great.  We, too, were not allowed to exchange addresses and phone numbers.  You gotta love the internet!
