As far as "recovery" goes... I think there are different levels. Yes, she's been in "recovery" - maybe she had a real problem, maybe not - but her "recovery" hasn't affected her music. I would be more suspect of her "recovery" if she suddenly started turning out gospel music instead of stuff like "Bottle of Jesus"... yeah, I sound stuck on that song, but this one verse makes me laugh:
"I know my neighbors wish I'd die
I'm much too loud when I get high
I think I'll send around some pie
I'll spike that dish with a touch of herb
It'll numb their lips
and soothe their nerves
I'll build my kingdom on the curb...."
And that was written after her "recovery".
Maybe her recovery just entailed moderation?
