Linda...Wow!  Great to hear from you.  Sorry to hear about your divorce.  I'm going through one myself.  Hard stuff.  My ex-stepdad, Gary.  I really don't know what's up with him.  He and my mom divorced more than 10 years ago.  Was your host home in Colleyville?  Did you know of any host homes in Colleyville?

Hi Marla.  Hope you're doing well.  I'll never forget your first night either.  I had no idea what was going on in that pretty little blonde head of yours.  Oh, and I remember being so sick that I didn't even hear those crazy bedroom alarms.  How could someone not hear those things?! Never mind the sound of your body as it pushed through the shattering glass.  What must that Texaco attendant have thought?

I'd love to get together and catch up and I'm back in the Dallas area.  Let me know if you put something together.

Lael

Everyone probably who was a girl anyways, remembers my host home the best. Pirzchalski, not a name one forgets (just doesn't have the foggiest clue how to spell or say it). I guess anyone who might remember me (all 23 months from May of 1989 to April of 1991) might remember Jason Blanton too. Note that as of October 1994 Jason and I married in Big Bend, Texas but I will be legally having my name changed back to the name no one can spell or say seeing as our divorce was final last month.

Lael doesn't your step-dad or ex as I don't know your situation still talk to Jasons Dad? It is good to see so many unscathed. What a trip!!  :silly:

Lynda,
I am pretty sure I remember you. Didn't you have your hair dyed auburn when you came in? I remember you were the newest girl there, before Sasha came in I think. I ran away at the end of June of 89. Glad to see you here:)

Lael, Where was your host home? I think it was Southlake and everytime I pass through there, I think about that night and the Texaco.

Yes Ma'am.  It was right off of 114 and Kimball Road.  I think the road names have changed though.  I bet you remember that long gravel driveway too.

"Oh this is weird.  So very, very weird.  Lael Collop here.  I was in Straight Dallas from July 31, 89 through Nov. 2, 90.  All 15 months and 2 days of it.  Ew.  I've spent half of my life hiding those awful 15 months.  All sorts of repressed memories are flooding back to me because some jackass decided to google me.  I remember Heath, Cesare, Shae, Garrett, Mike G., Will V., Elmer L., Chris C., Who was that Matt guy that Chris used to hang out with?  Todd B., Chad B., Leslie Marie, Carmel, Marla.  Ty F., Chris and Jeff U.  Oh and Tripp...does anybody remember him?  Wow!    Ohmigod.  I see so many faces without names.  Does Mike S. really help with a teen abuse thing?  It's so strange for me to acknowledge this experience...so inspiring that people are doing something about it...I haven't even been able to validate it for myself for so long.  I've been so ashamed of  it.           "

I do remember Tripp.  I remember his first day there when everyone was ripping at him for his name until staff got word from his parents that it had nothing to do with drugs.

Didn't you know, Todd, that I was the resident fashion expert?  LOL  Why were we up there?  Aftercare?  When did you commence?  Funny thing.  I don't have any fog involved in my Straight memories.  Either crystal clear or totally black.

I was happy to receive an email from you this morning (beautiful family by the way).  It's the one and only that's made it through though.  I did respond and I tried your Yahoo IM.  I'd give you a jingle but you didn't include your number.  Hope we're able to connect soon!  [ This Message was edited by: LibertyBelle on 2005-02-20 11:23 ]

please, please, please except my apologize for yelling @ you, (ripping you a new one). I'm sure you understand that in my head it was the only way I was getting out. Get on third phase, get a car and leave, simple. Sorry again....really, I didn't care if you sang in your head, picked something up w/o asking...I just really needed to get away from the place and I did...4 times. My favorite was at Brian L's host home. There they had a lock on the window that allowed the window to open 6 inches. I dropped my shorts right in the very inside of the closet and waited and waited and waited....with 5 others in the room, I retrieved my shorts from under the closet..tied my bedsheet to the bunk bed and shimmied my torso out the two story, 6 inch window opening...no shit, no shirt..my body was so bruised and scrapped....but I did it, to be caught and returned just days later. God to have been a fly on the wall when they woke up, I cracked up the whole time, and I love Brian L to death. We were buddies, but again I had to go!

oregon is so beautiful. i lived out of a van in eugene for a month and a half til it got too cold. that was a nice town. there was this one street where i parked, some other car camping kids told me about it, no one bothered you. i had an excellent dog. she wanted to bark whenever she heard someone when we were in the van but i taught her to be more stealthy.
