Files from Growing Together?

I was in GT 93-94ish.  I am glad to have found this community.

I was betrayed by a psychologist & psychiatrist who were "partners" of GT, as well as by a "friend's" parents who, I believe, received a discount on their own daughter's treatment by selling my parents on the program.  I have spent years harboring resentment for my captivity there and have always wondered if I had any legal right to my juvenile records from GT.  I realize it is highly unlikely, but I have dreamed all these years that those records would bring me some sense of closure and put that whole sick, twisted environment into some logical hindsite for me.  I hope someone here could give me an answer one way or the other.  Thanks.

Hi, welcome.

I don't know if you can get your records out of GT or not. As an adult, you're entitled to them. But I'm not sure how long they're required to keep them or how hard they might resist complying with this laws (as opposed to, say, laws against torture, for example)

But it can't hurt much to try. Just send them a signed written request.

People everywhere enjoy believing things that they know are not true. It spares them the ordeal of thinking for themselves and taking responsibility for what they know.

I tried to get my records from LIFE program and found out that they were shredded or at least that is what I have been told.  I would have loved to have read what was written about me because it had to have been alot of bullshit.
