I'm GREAT !!!

Remember how when anyone asked how we were doing we always answered GREAT !!!
If we said anything else we would be accused of having an attitude. Even worse to be accused of having a druggie attitude.
If we hesitated at all before saying GREAT, we might be toast. Later, in a rap we might get come down on.
We learned to fake it till you make it, as they used to say.
After we got off the program, we could still fake like everything was GREAT. Meanwhile we were trying to be okay in the real world.

Oh, I remember!
Remember how you not only were scared to act certain ways, but were scared to let your mind think certain things because you thought they would know your thoughts?
