Boston - National Geographic

My husband went to get his oil changed this morning. He was flipping
through magazines while waiting, National Geographic specifically.
Guess what he found??? The 1989 article on Straight. Do I remember
someone asking for a copy of that? It may have been quite a while
back. Hubby swiped the magazine. I"m sitting here reading it now.

Nice, sweet picture of someone being restrained.  Sure doesn't look like the restraints I remember.

Thought that is silenced is always rebellious. Majorities, of course, are often mistaken. This is why the silencing of minorities is necessarily dangerous. Criticism and dissent are the indispensable antidote to major delusions.

Absolutely!!  I'm leaving in a bit to go out of town for a few days so I'll do it when I get back.  My scanner's broken so I need to go down to my husband's office to fax or scan it to you.  I'm also putting up another thread about the 60 Minutes piece.  I'm gettin a copy of it and am going to make DVD copies.  Let me know if you want one.

I am going to the library today and figured while I am there I will check the magazine archives...anybody have any idea of the title of the article? Or does it have the name Straight in it? It would help alot if I am searching the whole year if I had a keyword.
Thanks

Well I went to the library yesterday and found the National Geographic...but the article was RIPPED out! Talk about a conspiracy. Of all the articles in all the archives. Argh. Anyway the only page left was the picture (the title page) with the phasers motivating. I read where someone on this board was in that picture. Are you the guy up front hardly moving with this look like where am I? I laughed so hard in the middle of these "straightlings" motivating their asses off was one guy with his arms slightly raised with that look like "I can't believe they are gonna take a picture." If this is the person that posted here I would love to hear what you were thinking.

Can't locate a copy of the Texas Monthly article.  I would absolutely love to see it.  If anyone has it, please contact me.

Thanks,
Kelly
