Ashcraft, Jerred - Phase I Leader

Jerred "Red" Ashcraft came to MBA in May of 2005. His educational background includes a Bachelors in Social Studies Education and a Masters in Education from Western Oregon University where he focused his studies on adolescent psychology, adolescent criminal justice, and the study of long term therapeutic boarding schools. Red appreciates seeing the students mature and grow in relationship with their families. Red is extremely dedicated to family and proud of his rural upbringing on his family's farm in Prineville, Oregon. In his free time Red enjoys being in nature with his wife, whether it is hiking in the woods, canoeing the lakes or floating down rivers. His favorite hobby is Mountain Man Rendezvous (re-enactments) which have taught him the skills of wood working, leather tanning, leather work, blacksmithing, and gun-smithing, while embracing his love for history, hiking, backpacking, canoeing, rafting and farming on his family's ranch.

we know the type well. it wouldn't surpirse me at all if he learned some of his tactics directly from a cedu school or brett and lisa carey. also as i take in these posts, I'm reminded that staff from different periods were in different levels of the program and therefore in different phases of self development on how they viewed their "work" at these skools. I'm always reminded of the meak quiet new staff and how different they were a few years later...CEDU staff didn't usually calm down over time, they got meaner louder more personal, and less contentious about saying and doing things that are simply over the line. Another great example of how CEDU taught "the ends justify the means".

staff and students always said the most "OFF BASE", "OUT OF TOUCH" stuff to kids when I was there, the emotional stakes were high, and some people not only lost their sacs, but their minds also.
