Vaporizing weed
« on: March 15, 2006, 10:51:00 AM »
I could not find this old thread, but I would like to know if this really works well. I have a friend who tried it and said it sucked, but some of you here seem to like it a lot. I have saved enough for the volcano, and basically have talked my wife into it because of health benefit as compared to smoking, but also on the basis that is suppossedly is fun to vaporize other herbs for fun . Any thoughts? serious buzz comparison. does it take a lot of weed?

I did not like it, but my tolerance is very high.  I've put TBPITW aside for awhile and will try to "vaporize" it in a few months.  but, at this point, my recommendation is "eat it". The chloraphyll (sp) taste is nasty to me, but hte buzz........well worth it.

Good luck

You got to keep at it for a week or two in order to transition and get used to it. Once you go back you never go back. And you wont ever smoke out of some dudes dirty bong who goes on and on about how vaporizing sucks.

Is the vapor difficult to hold in? Is it like steam?

The vapor is easier to hold in from smoke, even smoke that has been filtered through icy cold water in a pyrex bong.  It does take some getting used to, but it works pretty well.

Nah.. but it doesnt feel like it fills your lungs, thats what bothers people. they dont get that tactile sensation of dirty smoke and gunk filling their lungs and espophogus which they associate with weed. in time you begin to associate the vapor with smoking and it gets easier.  ive never talked to anyone who owned their own and gave it a serious effort that went back.

so ok, I'll definately try again....once I start smoking (or vaping) again.   So how do I know when to inhale?   The glass bowl fills with the vapor and then I suck it in.   How can I tell that it is just below combustion heat?   I hate to waste TBPITW.   Maybe I'll get used to it.  Ya never know.

you're not "wasting" Tbpitw in a vaporizor, you're getting the THC out of it, but not the tars and soot.

about the same.  you're vaporizing the active ingredient, instead of getting it by burning.  In theory, you would need less, once you are familiar with the technique.

Well i have quit smoking pot and am going to buy a vaporizer when i am 60 days no pot. I actually feel good chunking up 20 years worth of tar. At times i just cough and bubble gum sized pieces of tar come flying out that i have to wipe up fast before the dogs get it. it feels cleansing though. looking forweard to vapor like you would not believe. have received a ton of good info. in theory the vaporizer should pay for itself fast as shit since it is twice as efficient.
