T Bl*nke*ship (suicide)
I & T Beroni
F & C Herring
J Do*er*y
S Ma*th*ws (suicide)
J W*ll*rd
D H*bb*rd (gag)

D M*vi*z
D Ti*t*n (last saw him at a Grateful Dead show in 1989)
P Co*ne (murdered)
T Fr*bo*ta

...There are probably more I'm not thinking of this second. I guess I'm just wondering if anyone remembers Roy S (me)! I tried to blend into the sea of heads as best I could, never really "stood out" much. I was too busy contemplating how I was going to get out. Every single day for almost a year. Did the dance, found my exit (twice). Both times took a newcomer with me, and felt good about liberating them.

Isn't listing names of previous clients, on a public web site,  a MAJOR BREECH of Confidentiality?!?!

Well, if so, will whoever's in charge of this board please remove those names? As far as I know, it's not illegal... And I certainly don't adhere to Straight's (or any other affiliate's) "policies." My intention was to see if any of these folks are lurking out there and might respond. However, I wasn't considering the fact that some of the folks whose names I put up might not WANT that (duh)... So I do apologize, and have no problem if this thread is deleted.

OMG! A major breech of confidentiality?  What year are we in?  Straight is dead. It was a scam, the only reason for the confidentiality rule was to cover up the atrocities that went on inside the building! No, we will not delete anything.  Free speech is spoken here.  If you don't like it, too bad. I think we've had our mouths taped shut long enough.

No No people -  Confidentiality was NOT "invented" by Straight ...   it's legal practice with ANY type of medical, counseling, or client/service provider.
Has NOTHING to do with if Straight still exists or not.  It's the individual's rights tha are violated.  Maybe one or more of the people listed wouldn't WANT their name associated with Straight, or any other affiliation.

No on one said Confidentiality was "invented" by Straight.  Straight never "invented" anything.  They stole and "borrowed" everything they did from someone else or from another company.  Furthermore, Straight was not ANY TYPE of  MEDICAL OR COUNSELING SERVICE, AND IT CERTAINLY NEVER PROVIDED ANY SERVICE OTHER THAN ABUSE!

Nothing about Straight was legal. Straight was all about violating individual rights, we're here just to expose the truth, not violate anyone's rights, enough of that was done in the program.  Maybe one or more of the people listed would not want their name associated with Straight or any other affiliation, if that's the case, that one person should take it up with the individual responsible, so if you aren't listed, don't worry about it.

Michigan has laws against breaking anyone's confidentiality when it comes to substance abuse and if a former staff member were to break someone's in Michigan they could probably still be sued. For instance where I work I am bound by law to not disclose any information without a release. Especially when it relates to substance abuse or HIV/ AIDS. Even if I'm not providing substance abuse services to a client and they just disclosed using substances I can not release their name. I'm sure the laws vary from state to state.

Well they can sue me if they so desire... I think my name and adress are posted in here somewhere and a quickwitted sleuthy lawyer would have no problems learning my identity.
The thing is...straight kept no records and it would be hard to hold up in court that anyone was in straight...at what times...with whom..etc etc etc

They way straight did paperwork and records...a lawsuit would be a big expensive logistical nightmare..
