i loved how they tried to make us conform to their idealist standards through their methods of harsh discipline and coercive obedience.  you know, we are all one person after all... ::roll::
i don't see how they can get away with calling what they do "therapy"; they tried to break down our individuality (or pull us away from a group that we'd previously identified with; ie, our image, religion, basically, our social contexts.) and throw us into the mix of average joes and janes who would be more likely to succeed in your typical 9-5 environment.  i thought they claimed to nurture our creativity? (that's what their website claims)  that's a load of b.s....

What I hated more than anything was the cult lingo.  Whenever I was on work detail they'd say stuff like "As you are scrubbing out this oven, think about that dark hole you put your little girl in every day."

I was surprised by how many people ran their thinking, ran their shit etc. I don't think I had one emotionally authentic moment while I was there. I mean I felt close to some people and I was touched by things I could relate to, but I didn't trust the staff to open my innermost self up for their voyeuristic pulverizing.

I gotta say the most shocking thing was finding out how many people (attractive ones) had some sort of sexual relationship with an animal. Relationship is probably the wrong word. I was just really shocked because it was the first time I ever heard of this kind of thing. (I grew up at the beach not a farm. Ha HA Ha)

Also, I think it is essential in therapy to keep your lives separate so it was weird to hear all the issues of the staff.  THe gross things they did to themselves etc. Never mind! I forgot these staff weren't therapists to begin with!!!   :wstupid:

Changes? Too Many to count. I'd deep six the raps in favor of qualified therapy and positive life coaching.  For peer issues, do peer mediation, in style that is dignified and not abusive.

I dunno, Hell.  To me, raps were strictly used as a mechanism for abuse and control.  Even though I sorta blended in, it made me ill to see how other people were horrendously mistreated.  Staff totally cultivated this shit.  They did NOT --at least when I was there--teach you how to communicate your issues in a mature and direct manner, buthow to be an abusive bully. The best bully was the staff pet.
