And you thought it was bad that nobody stopped their restraining and confronting to give you a little praise, Ha Ha.

He does know...

He's a human being just like all of us, and everyone loves attention. I correspond with he and his family on a regular basis. Hopefully he'll stay on a healthy path once he gets out. Lord knows he's been through as much hell as many feel he put them through. How about a little compassion?  He got caught up in the game, and was praised for being the way he was in Straight. It was torture for him, and as a result he has spent the past 19 years trying to erase himself. Also, he too was just a kid when this all began for him. We are all survivors now, and need support.

There never was a good war or a bad peace.

Don't get me wrong.  I am not one of the "anti-Steve Brooks" people.  He was nice to me and helped me out when I needed it most, and when i was being doubted and overlooked.

Y'all please don't get me wrong.  All I was saying is that there were plenty of times that people were supportive to others and caring and considerate and helpful and did what they were supposed to.....  and no one ever cared about that.  All they wanted to do was rip people and degrade and make everyone feel less of a human being.

And unfortunately, when 15 misbehavors decided to run for the doors, it was part of our responsibility to help restrain.

I am not saying that restraining was a good thing to do, but that was what was expected in those circumstances.

I never restrained anyone as a client or as staff.(In Dallas we became paid employees after graduation)  I never thought that to be my responibility.  There were times as a client that I was told by a 5th phaser to replace someone holding a limb. I really hated that shit.  Sometimes they were bloody, sweaty and I felt awkward in that situation.

What I did do........

While I was on 5th trainee a girls non-custodal dad broke into the building to free his daughter.  I grabbed him by the neck and threw him back out. (Noone called the police or anything, just told him to leave.)

I had one newcomer bolt out the host home front door on me.  I chased, tackled, and beltlooped back.

I restrainted, but didn't care for it....was restrained...cared a lot less for that....but hey we were just playing the hands dealt to us.

Which one was Steve Brooks....the one on the cover of the mag or the dude who was from Duncanville who had long hair when he came in...?
