There are so many disgraceful aspects to these stories, it is difficult to know where to begin.  One thing that stands out is the proposed cost.  Kids of the Canadian West was projected to cost $10000 - $12000 per year.  AARC costs $54000 per year.  As the Consumer Price Index took from 1983 to 2006 to double, the mind boggles at the thought that indoctrination into the AARC cult rose in price 500% from 1990 to today.
How about the parents?  Assholes still claim that AARC arrived here because there was no local program to meet the needs of Calgary families.  Pure bullshit.  The Neils had their adult sons in an adolescent recovery centre, and now at least one is dead.  The Hills sent their boys to Kids to fix their eating disorders.  Janne Holmgren was there to fix an eating disorder.  These are the people who claimed that we needed AARC here.
AARC was born out of a fraud, and can never be anything else.

an interesting connection in this was an organization called  PRIDE,  or parents resource information on drug education.    It was a calgary organtization run by austin and hamnet hills parents.  I think the neals were also involved,  and maybe a dr. atkinson.

this organization was largely responsible for referring calgarians to kids.   I don't know what happened to it,  but know for a fact that it was responsible for my incarceration in kids in 1988.    MY parents were part of the assholes who brought this cancer back to calgary.   today,  they can see it for the mind control cult that it is.

This will happen to former aarc supporting parents,  and will help speed it's demise

I remember when Pride was around.  It got started because a few parents, like Mrs. Hill, needed something to blame for their child's difficulties.  In the fall of '84 there was a big drug scandal amongst the children of Mount Royal and Elbow Park attending Western.  It was just kids smoking cannabis oil, but by the time Hamnett Hill got kicked out of school for a minor drug offense about two years later, the atmosphere was ripe for the bored mothers and compliant fathers to create a drug bugbear.  It's interesting to read Mrs. Neil's account of her son forcing another child to drink urine.  That used to be called being a prick, not a drug addict.  It made sense back then, and makes sense today: Don't believe the hype!

you can read my account right here.  Kevin Neal used to tell that "past incident"  all the time in kids of bergen county.  I must have heard him tell it at least ten times.

Was that Brian Neal's brother and mother? What happened? Why was someone being forced to drink urine?

kevin neal was brians brother.   but,  it was like someone else said,  he was jsut being  a prick.   I don't remember the particulars, but would not be suprised if it was made up.   you know,  people making up crap in an attempt to advance in the program.   I think he said it happened while he was in prison
