Yeah, we got some killer snow up here in PA. Must be a foot on the ground and more fallin ever day. Rolled one up and went for a drive with a friend. Took the truck way down over the edge of a steep hill in the woods, all highed up. Listenin to the CTI All-Stars at the time. Didn't know before we went over the edge, you know, crossed the event horizon, so to speak, if we'd get back up. All highed up an' such like we were...
So, there we were down in the fuckin hole. No way out but back up the narrow hill road. 'foot snow on the ground. CTI playin. I put it in 2nd gear and started off as quick as I could, but lost it 1/2 way up when I over-shot drive and spent too long in neutral. The 2nd try came a lot closer but we still couldn't quite get up to the top. I had to back down the hill again, take another look at the situation, make my friend a little nervous by dramatizing the situation some. I think that's when he mentioned his fear of arrest, cause, we must a been on someone's property, but we weren't just cuttin around in someone's woods or nothin, we were on a road of some kind, though it might 'a' been an ATV trail, is what I was thinkin.
Anyway, now as I looked at the hill straight on, I took note of the ruts that were forming, and remembered the feel of their pull the last time. There was a drop-off to the left that would'a wrecked us if we'd 'a' ended up in there. So I put down in 2nd and hit the gas. Took a slightly different line to avoid the ruts, though that also meant plowin through fresh snow. Moved it into drive before and climbed that fucker. I only got 5 an' a 1/2 cylinders too.
PA is beautiful in the snow.
