Afghoo is the best bud that I've smoked in a long time.  Impressive, it's a stoney, "trippy" high and is rather harsh on the lungs.  Four stars.  I just smoked some.

I just got done studying the life and work of Dr. J.L. Moreno, creator of the psychodrama and the first person to write of "encounter groups" and "the therapeutic encounter."  What fun.

Today I skipped class (a class called Group Dynamics, or the theory and practice of group counseling.  Yes, I am taking a class about how to be the leader of a counseling group, the different theoretical models and philosophical orientations and such) because the professor was going to have everybody sit in a big circle and do a mock-up of a psychodrama group.  It made me uncomfortable, so I opted out of that class session.  DAYTOP was a long time ago and I have been in a lot of good therapy, but the thought of sitting in a circle with a bunch of strangers and talking about  the therapeutic encounter still kinda freaks me out.  Besides, I don't need to read about it or study it out of a book, I've lived it.

In his autobiography, Dr. Moreno recalls this encounter with Sigmund Freud in 1912. "I attended one of Freud’s lectures. He had just finished an analysis of a telepathic dream. As the students filed out, he singled me out from the crowd and asked me what I was doing. I responded, 'Well, Dr. Freud, I start where you leave off. You meet people in the artificial setting of your office. I meet them on the street and in their homes, in their natural surroundings. You analyze their dreams. I give them the courage to dream again. You analyze and tear them apart. I let them act out their conflicting roles and help them to put the parts back together again.'"

In fact, this is the book we use, and this is the very chapter I was studying today.

I just put the brakes on this all-day methylphenidate run that I've been on, with some potent (though harsh-smoking) Afghoo.  Put aside for now are thoughts of Moreno and the Encounter.  Mmmmmm...

Today I studied for a while, worked out after school, then took a shower, and now I just while watching CNN.  Tonight an old favorite, Strawberry Cough, is on the menu.  Yes, indeedy.  I still have some Afghoo, though, and it is stronger.  That Afghoo is some heavy-ass weed.
