Calif. pastor charged with torturing teen
UPI,  April 4, 2012

The pastor of a Southern California church faces charges of ordering two men to torture a teenager whose mother wanted him disciplined.

Lonny Lee Remmers, 54, pastor of the Heart of Worship Community Church in Corona, Nicholas Craig, in his 20s, and Darryll Duane Jeter Jr., 28, were being held in lieu of $1 million bail after they were arrested Friday, The (Riverside) Press-Enterprise reported.

Investigators say Remmers ordered Craig and Jeter to "scare" the 13-year-old boy. Capt. Jerry Rodriguez of the Corona police said they took the boy to the Barstow area, about 100 miles away, where they made him dig a grave, hit him with a shovel and partly buried him.

The boy was held for several days and subjected to other ill treatment, Rodriguez said, including being hurt with pliers by Remmers.

Rodriguez said the boy's mother brought him to a group home operated by the church on March 18 and asked for help with disciplining him. He and his 7-year-old sister are now in the custody of Child Protective Services.

Heart of Worship operated out of a storefront that is now empty and up for sale, The Press-Enterprise said.

Boy 'forced to dig own grave' as discipline
By ninemsn staff, 9 News, April 5, 2012

A California boy being "disciplined" by a pastor and two other men was allegedly beaten and forced to dig a hole he was told would be his grave.

On March 18, the teenage victim's mother allegedly took him to be disciplined to the Heart of Worship Ministry men's group home in Corona, which is run by 54-year-old Pastor Lonnie Remmers.

Police say two other men — Nick Craig, 22, and Darryll Jeter, 28, — took the boy to Barstow where they beat him with a shovel and forced him to dig the grave.

They then brought him back to Corona where the pastor allegedly pinched him with pliers.

The boy and his seven-year-old sister are now in the care of protective services.

Craig and Jeter have been charged with kidnapping, torture, child abuse and conspiracy.

Remmers has been charged with torture, child abuse and conspiracy.

All three are being held with bail set at $1 million.

You gotta' love those Christians. Why not just perform an exorcism? Sadism and Christianity certainly fit hand in hand.

Mark 9:42 is a personal favorite of mine.

"I like you Christ, but not your Christians. They are so unlike your Christ."
