I think the PURE ppl took ISAC for a ride. And yet, that doesn't prove to me that they're acting out of bad motives. I say it because I think it true and because I think it explains a whole lot.
So many people seem to be trying to prove bad intentions on the part of others. I don't think the industry is based on a lot of bad intentions. I think it's built on self delusion and the age-old quest for the holy higher purpose.

Oh, it happens all the time, Frod! Where to begin? Well, ever go to a left leaning sort of protest? I've been to a couple and I love those shindigs. There you'll find a whole lot of people working various agendas with consuming passion and fire. They're sincere, and dedicated. They think they've identified the bad guys who must be defeated and that makes them the good guys without having to think too much. Same holds true for the Dittoheads. They're sure they're right and justified in pursuing practically any means necessary to further their agenda because the other guy is the bad guy and they oppose them. So they must be good.
Somewhere therein lies the truth.
I think the PURE people honestly believe that they're the good guys rescuing kids from the bigger-than-life evil WWASP. The big tip off whas that month or two when anyone who questioned PURE was found guilty of being a WWASP supporter and sentenced to summary flaming. At the same time, the WWASPies really and truely buy into their belief that they're the nobel martyrs, suffering the slings and arrows...
Somewhere therein lies the truth.
But nobody's looking for the truth when you've got a guilty culprit to beat a confession out of.
