Treatment Abuse, Behavior Modification, Thought Reform > The Troubled Teen Industry
Resident muckraker

Froderick is no friend of kids in residential treatment facilities against their will. He is a survivor that has turned on his fellow survivors, many of whom would not have been in a program if not for these scumbag referral agents. He keeps bashing Carey all the while kissing the ass of Public Enemy #1. As for the horrid behavior, that is par for the course with him and his cohorts. Wish they would ALL grow up.

Well, I wish everyone would put down the highly prejorative rabal rousing and get down to some facts.
But, at the same time, why would I want to create the illusion that these folks are any better behaved than they are? If you were a parent considering using PURE to place your kid somewhere and you stumbled accross these forums, would it make you think twice?
Until you've lost your reputation, you never realize what a burden it was or what freedom really is.

Ok, this is really getting out of hand. Frod, you're posting so much text and so little meaningful content, you're flooding. It's not just offensive, though that's an understatement, it's also reaching the point where you're making it hard for people to keep track of conversations they're interested in. Stop it, ok? Everyone is very, very clear on your feelings toward Carey, ok? We all get it. You have not failed to make your point. The point is made. Now you're just being obnoxious. Please stop it!
The people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. ... All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country.

thank you ginger.
I would ask those responsible to Please listen, the meaning of this and other sites is being lost to juvenile mudslinging and childish offensive rants.
I for one do not appreciate any of it, especially the impact it is having on new posters and real discussion. It actually sickens me, to tell you the truth, to watch these sites become useless but to a very few using it to act out program type behavior.
Under the benign influence of our republican institutions, and the maintenance of peace with all nations whilst so many of them were engaged in bloody and wasteful wars, the fruits of a just policy were enjoyed in an unrivaled growth of our faculties and resources.

Look, you guys, this is what it's all about.

People can get their own stories out, without being cut off, censored or otherwise sat down. They sometimes put their heads together with authors, playrights, journalists, lawyers, legislators and other people of influence and actually get up off their dead asses and do something that might actually have an impact on the problem. I think we could do without the group confrontations, too.
Soon as I'm done here, I'm going to take the liberty as administrator of changing the topic of this thread to something more in line with my role in this discussion.
As administrator, I keep the server up and, hopefully, take care of bug fixes and improvements to the software to the satisfaction of all who care about such things. I'm not using admin access to handle this current problem. It's not for me to dictate with authority what you folks want to say to eachother or to the world. That's not my gig as a site admin. I have dominion and responsibility over machines and software, not over you.
I do see the recent flame wars as a problem, though. But it's not a technical problem so I won't approach it with technical solutions. It's been a close call a couple of times lately. And I hate that shit! (bad shit, Don, you know it when you see it
In this conversation, I'm not an administrator. In fact, I'm the evil anti-admin, if you think about it. I'm a muck racker! Muck raking has always had a bad rap. It doesn't take a lot of brains, it's just hard, smelly, dirty low pay labour. But it's also the art of turning bullshit to useful, productive soil through the regular introduction of fresh air and sunshine.
Our buddy Frod likes to draw analogies to the industrial methods, which really haven't worked out so well if you look too closely. I prefer a more organic approach. Water what you want to grow.
A good head and good heart are always a formidable combination. But when you add to that a literate tongue or pen, then you have something very special
