When Casa by the sea was closed. Luke Hallows was in the process of buying it I believe. Luke at the time casa was closed was the total director of the program.
Miss MillA  11-13-2007    #53
really thats insane... were you there when dace was in charge raymond?
bill.boyles  11-13-2007    #54
yeah dace was probably selling off to luke to keep it in the family so he could go do the darrington thing, you know?
Miss MillA  11-13-2007    #55
i wouldent doubt that at all
ladilucix  11-29-2007    #56
heard that too... that dace left casa and luke wanted to take over probably did and thats why it reopened as shithole academy
Miss MillA  12-01-2007    #57

Marshall  12-08-2007    #58
FYI. Luke Hallows has taken a job at Arivaca Boys Ranch
and Academy, it is located in southern AZ.
Miss MillA  12-08-2007    #59
    as i say b4 i hate him
bill.boyles  12-08-2007    #60
is this a wwasp school, i wonder? or just some shithole that doesn't care about who they hire and doesn't bother to check resumes?
Raymond Portillos  01-16-2008    #61
Sorry for taking so long to respond. No I was never there when Dace was. I do remember my first two or so days. The gouldings the old people were leaving and everyone was sad. That asshole Richard Darrington became the Principal at Casa. He was an ass cause I was gay. Then He left to go to Darrington in the U.S. The chinese lady Hisae became the Principal. Mike Chisim was the Boys Director. Then an asshole named paul ingram was the program manager along with some total power tripper named Miguel Rodriguez.
bill.boyles  01-17-2008    #62
    Wait Wait Wait Wait!!!!!!!!!
richard Darrington Ran Casa By The Sea????????

I wonder how many chickens they had to barter for that Mormon polygamist trade.... wait it was Mexico so it was pollos or for the more informed Gallina

I still remember a hilarious incident (well, it was hilarious by Casa standards) where there was some kind of roof problem and the girls were going "cheap! cheap! cheap!" to Luke like little birdies because nothing ever got fixed there. Luke told them to cut it out, but didn't take it nearly as bad as some of the staff would (certainly more laid-back than Jade).

Mostly, my image of Luke is the guy who just paraded around brand-new, expensive sneakers all the time paid for with our parents' money. Seriously, I remember him showing off his new sneakers. Kind of put our duct-taped sandals to shame.

Jade was on the girls' side when I first got there (in fact, he was the first person I met before I went with the upper-levels to remove my earrings and change into my uniform--thankfully, I didn't get the strip-search treatment and my parents had just driven me down). Luke switched over to the girls' side after being at the boys' side sometime during the 2001-2002 era. The rules certainly lightened up, if I recall, when Luke came over. Wasn't that around the time when girls finally could look at their reflections in mirrors and windows (you know, besides the sneaky reflections from toilet paper dispensers and faucets)? Around the same time that Chicken Surprise got taken off of the menu (Gag. Barf. No yesterday's chicken gristle surprises hidden in thick corn goop, please.). Not sure. All I know is it seemed to get better around the time of the change-over.

I still remember when the Gouldings ate dinner with us and it was that God-awful beef and gravy dish (the flavorless gravy was just covering up a rather poor-quality slab of meat). I remember being curious watching them to see if they actually liked the crap they were feeding us.
Rosie the Riveter  07-20-2009    #66
Luke was married to Rennie, Dace's sister. Speaking of Dace, he is on my Facebook and messaged me a couple weeks ago asking how I was doing. I said fine, just working a lot and taking care of my kids. I asked him how many kids he had now and he never responded hahaha....you know how those Mormans can breed like rabbits.
torturedkitty  07-21-2009    #67
I remember Luke from what I remember he was college buddies with Dace and Jason I think he just was friends with no relation. I think two of the wives were cousins making them related by marriage. when I was there they all were popping kids out like crazy! I remember KUMA Jade's big Keeshound dog! anyone remember him? (the dog) I also remember Luke never gave the girls trouble we dealt with Jade and Dace mostly.

Luke is my first cousin, jade isn't related, Dace is a distant cousin of my sisters husband. I WISH I COULD FORGET ABOUT HIM! What do you miss about him? I have his moms face book, he is on there.
do you know anything about him related to the program xana? PM me if you do, so we can keep your info anonymous, i'd love to hear what you've heard all these years having been a part of his family. hopefully he'll piss you off in the near future like he's done to most of the people on this forum, and united we can get a little retribution. just know that you'd have the ultimate form of revenge at your fingertips should the occasion present itself.

    Is this Luke Hallows at
Arivaca Boys Rach the same Luke Hallows that used to be working at Casa by the Sea?

If it is the same person, it is mentioned that he has started two programs. If he helped founding Casa by the Sea, what is the name of the other program?
I really hated him, he seemed even more cold and evil than Jason Finlinson. Luke was in charge of the lower levels, and Jason was in charge of the upper levels. Dont get me wrong, Jason is quite the evil morman bastard.. Its just that Luke to me had this personna, that he could murder one of us and not care one bit. It was like Luke didnt enjoy doing what he did, but he had a goal to achieve. And he would not let anyone get in his way. Weather it meant torturing kids to shut them up or whatever. It's weird but that is how I felf about him. He really scaired me more than Jason

You guys, I have so much dirt on these two people. They messed me up bad because I escaped casa by the sea. They "restrained" me until I couldn't walk and forced me in to "R & R" until my chin slid around in my own blood. Not to mention other incidents. No one ever believed me on the out side, but I'm old enough now to defend myself and I would love to expose that administration. Any ideas on how would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Luke Jade Dace Jason. I would love to see justice serve these disgusting men.
Rosie the Riveter  04-08-2009    #11
Yes, Luke is married to Dace's sister Rennie.....fucking Morman in-bred pieces of shit

Ha ha ha ha ha ha! that's some funny shit. I had no idea that that was the case. They're family, what a fucked up Christmas they must all have. Their poor kids. I like you, you make me laugh.

Reports Of Abuse Shut Down Boarding Schools (2004)
« Reply #32 on: February 19, 2012, 11:38:08 PM »
Luke Hallows was apparently director of Casa when abuse allegations hit the media in 2004, resulting in three behav mod programs being shut down in Mexico, Casa by the Sea being the largest among them. Hallows is quoted at the end of the second of the below two articles regarding the use of restraint.

Here's the first article:

-------------- • -------------- • --------------

10News - The San Diego Channel
Reports Of Abuse Shut Down Boarding Schools

Schools Focus On Children With Behavior Problems

POSTED: 9:58 am PDT September 13, 2004
UPDATED: 10:17 am PDT September 13, 2004

SAN DIEGO -- American children who may have been mistreated in rehabilitative boarding schools in Baja California, Mexico, were escorted back into the United States this past weekend, 10News reported.

About 530 students from Casa by the Sea, located outside Ensenada, crossed into the U.S., as did 20 from Casa La Esperanza in Ensenada and other children from Genesis, south of Rosarito Beach.

Behavior modification programs offered at the schools reportedly were developed for children with drug dependencies and behavior problems. Parents reportedly turned to the schools as a last resort.

Authorities raided the schools after receiving reports that the youths were being mistreated.

Most of the children were initially sent to the Town and Country Hotel in Mission Valley where their parents were able to pick them up.

Former Casa by the Sea student Ryan Calburn said he wasn't surprised about the raid. He spent four months there.

"When I was there, some guy got slammed against the wall," Calburn said.

He also said he remembered routinely being forced to sit still for hours as discipline.

Many of the parents who came to pick up their children after the raid said they don't understand.

"He's only gone straight up since he's gone into this program," a parent said.

"It's so frustrating he's come so far, then upheaval, he was on track," another parent said.

Casa by the Sea school officials were not available for comment Sunday.

Boarding Schools Director Responds To Abuse Allegations (200

10News - The San Diego Channel
Boarding Schools Director Responds To Abuse Allegations

Schools Focus On Children With Behavior Problems

POSTED: 9:41 am PDT September 16, 2004

SAN DIEGO -- The head of a boarding school in Baja is responding to allegations of abuse at the school, 10News reported.

Mexican agents shut down three Baja boarding schools, sending hundreds of American teens to a hotel in Mission Valley to await their parents.

Mexican officials reported physical and emotional abuse at Casa by the Sea near Ensenada.

Some former students aren't surprised by the accusations, while others strongly doubt them.

Former student Ryan Calburn said, "When I was there, some guy got slammed against the wall."

However, former student Ariel Mittleman said she never saw any abuse.

"Nobody was ever physically abused there. Nobody was ever neglected there," Mittleman said.

The director of the schools, Luke Hallows, said students do have to be restrained sometimes, but the school follows strict guidelines.

Here's a description of Luke Hallows following those "strict guidelines" when it came to the practice of restraining students. Originally posted earlier this month, emphasis added:

PLEASE EMAIL ME IF YOU HAVE ANY PERSONAL QUESTIONS THAT I CANT MENTION ON HERE, DUE TO MY FAMILY BEING A PART OF THIS HORRIBLE ABUSE. [email protected] THANK YOU

I am Lukes Cousin, i spent 18 Months at Casa By the Sea. I have SEEN my cousin abuse children, i have SEEN him sit on top of a girl, cuss her out and scream at her (mind you she was a 14 year old little girl) IF that isnt abuse, then i dont know what is.He to this DAY, does not know i saw him do this.  But i have wrote it al lover the net now hoping he will read it.....i might just email him this little link... It sickens me to see that he is still doing these Programs, and i HOPE he takes a step up and admits his faults and stop all the madness.  My mom is his aunt, and she WISHES to this DAY she never sent me there, now knowing the truth.
