Dysfunction Junction:
Glad to hear you are safe, Stack.  I was scheduled to fly to Tokyo yesterday.  Obviously, I'm now not going.  My Japanese associates are struggling in the aftermath with deaths now believed to be in the tens of thousands.  God help those who remain in an earthly hell...

DannyB II:
I would have PM you but since you were fucked with so much I can understand lack of email. So I guess I will do it this way.

Stack I feel for you. Okinawa has maybe 80,000 marines on the island, Iwakuni (mspl) has at least 20,000 on mainland Japan along with the Air Force on Japan and Okinawa. I was over in Okinawa and Iwakuni for 2 years with a stint in So. Korea.
What a shame you are in this circumstance.
Listen if you are in need of cash or whatever PM me and I can help as much as I can. I am sure there are ways to set up ways to funnel monies to you. You said you have a blog, some folks I know who have been layed off have set up donations vehicles on their blog, either through paypal or credit card.
Just trying to help ya brother. I have also been overseas doing work earlier in my life and got stuck a few times, although for different reasons.

???????? ( I hope I spelled that right)
Because people long ago caused suffering, there is no justification to wish  more suffering now. That said, the notion of Nanking, and poor japanese people in the same sentence. It's called the Rape of Nanking for a reason. Imperial japanese committed more and more serious crimes, against many more than the nazis, yet, oddly, they as a nation have never been held to world shame as have the Germans. Russians ain't no great shakes either. does the foregoing make me a 'hater'
Here's a question for you..If I declare that I hate poverty and ignorance and brutality, is that a hate crime?
J.O.M.

heretik:
Stack, thanks for the insight into the suffering of the Japanese. It is surreal.
