The motivating eveolved  from the rapid finger snap. Every kid did it in the seed. But it served the same purpose. To get called on in group.Funny thing though,it was the kids thatdidn't do it were called on more,'cause they looked lazy.I guess straight didn' like all the noise.  I think the "snap" you refer to is done by kind of shaking your hand while letting your index finger go limp,no?

I remember snapping like you talk about....it was normal thing to do......

Yeah, I didn't know about Straightling either...just got a copy of that too but my daughter is reading it first and we talk about it as she goes.
Trailer was shocking just to SEE it again.
