R.L. Burnside King of MS Hill Country Blues
Froderik:
The first I ever heard of R.L. Burnside was listening to that record he made with Jon Spencer (I was kind of into Boss Hog back then, my friends liked them. I saw them once at a small club in Balto. when a friend's band opened; they were a better band back then. Also liked the Blues Explosion) called A Ass Pocket of Whiskey.
Recently heard a lot of stuff off of A Bothered Mind and some other album (thanks again, shaggy.)
Gotta hear some more R.L.!

I recently had the good fortune to watch "Black Snake Moan" the other night,(how I missed this movie is beyond me).Samuel L. Jackson's bandmates were actually R.L.'s band.
A similar act that I dug the shit out of is North Mississippi All-stars, had the good fortune to see them open for Steve Earle,at the Lincoln Park Zoo/ WXRT "jammin at the zoo" series 7 or 8 yrs ago. well worth it,and the monkeys went batshit.
