Oh my god! I saw the author interviewed on Oprah. Someone tricked me into it, saying the show would be about the teen help industry. Didn't realize the connection till now.

This is just another scare tactic.
When a man you like switches from what he said a year ago, or four years ago, he is a broad-minded person who has courage enough to change his mind with changing conditions. When a man you don't like does it, he is a liar who has broken his promise.
-- FRANKLIN P.ADAMS (1861-1960).

Apparently, the book isn't as awful as its title suggests.  The woman apparently spent time with several teens with drug problems-- I think one went to a boot camp.

She did not come away particularly impressed with that approach, from what I've read and supposedly, she gets that this is not a simple problem with a quick fix.

she was interviewed in salon recently, i think.

Ginger, how did she seem on TV?

What parent resources does the author provide in Chapter 4?  Does she make any specific recommendations and/or endorsements?

Whoops, forgot to add the Table of Contents for question about Part 4.
