Just some observations.....

I was looking over http://www.redcliffascent.com/staff.html and noticed a few things. First of all, only two people listed don't say what college they went to. One is the CLINICAL DIRECTOR, the "druggy" looking guy with long hair and a beard. I would LOVE to know where he got his degree from. And to top it off, his name is listed as: Dr. Dan Sanderson Ph.d. So he's both a Dr. AND a Ph.D.! This is the best part of his description: "His knowledge gained from many years of experiential therapy in the wilderness has certainly contributed to the therapeutic model adopted by the RedCliff Clinical staff and has facilitated the reputation that RedCliff maintains for sound clinical work." Ok, but since when did psychologists just get to make up their own therapy without doing any sort of research on it and claim that this contributes to them gaining a reputation for "sound clinical work"? This is completely ridiculous.

OK last but not least, the link on their homepage to "Research Demonstrates Success of Wilderness Treatment" --- this is actually a link to an undergraduate psychology journal. Meaning, this is some paper that an undergraduate psychology major wrote. Is that the best they could find. Talk about "sound clinical work." [ This Message was edited by: jane on 2005-01-21 15:05 ]
